A retired Army general said today at a news conference sponsored by the Republican Party of Virginia that Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama isn't qualified to be Commander-in-Chief of the United States because he couldn't get top secret clearance.
Jerry Curry said Obama's past association with former anti-war radical William Ayers would prevent him from getting security clearance.
Curry, who is an African-American, spoke at an ethnic outreach news conference at the Bell Tower in Capitol Square.
If Barack Obama had been commander-in-chief of the forces in the Revolutionary War instead of George Washington "we'd still be a British colony," Curry said.
Ayers was a founder of the Weather Underground, which set off explosives in the U.S. Capitol in 1971 and the Pentagon the next year to protest the Vietnam War. The organization warned people to evacuate the buildings, and no one was injured.
A fact-check story from The Associated Press reported that: "In 1995, Ayers hosted a meet-the-candidate session at his home for Obama as he prepared to run for the state Senate. Later, the two worked with the same charity and social-service organizations in Chicago.
"Obama has tried to minimize his link to Ayers, at one point saying he was just a guy who lived in the same neighborhood.
"But while there was more to the relationship than that, there is no evidence they were ever close friends or that Ayers advised Obama on policy. Obama has denounced Ayers' violent activities."

Someone please post that Google map image of 0bama’s neighborhood, including nearby Rezko, Farrakhan and Ayers residences.
Isn’t this just a corker...The President of the United States and Commander in Chief of our Armed Forces couldn’t get a security clearance?
How weird is this life becoming?
Retired General Curry has confirmed what I have believed to be true for a long time now. Our son who was in the military, and had received the highest security clearance one can get, had told me that there was no way in hell Obama would be able to receive that security clearance. Background checks are intense, and Obama’s background should put him on the “terrorist watch list”, not the security clearance list.
You know, I believe your son is right. Unfortunately for America, Colin Powell’s endorsement probably trumps whatever General Curry has to say. This sucks.
This is really good! BTTT!
I’ve actually done background investigations in the Air Force (AFOSI) and can say that there would be enough in his background that he wouldn’t be considered for a CONFIDENTIAL, much less TOP SECRET and beyond.
We're not talking endorsements here. We're talking about the rules and regulations related to getting a top secret security clearance. Besides a birth certificate they want to interview all of your family, friends... Probably a polygraph also.
Dear Rep Biggert:
There has been a troubling lawsuit, now dismissed, in Pennsylvania that attempted to clarify the citizenship and eligibility for the Democrat candidate who is running for President.
The courts have thusfar ruled that the US citizen who brought the case does not "have standing" in the court. The question needs to be asked 'Who has standing to challenge the eligibility of a Presidential candidate?
From what I can tell, the determination of eligibility happens at the Elector College step. In this current campaign, if the Democrat challenger wins, there will be a constitutional crisis the likes we have never seen.
In response to the lawsuit, the DNC was joined. A spokesman from the DNC to the court admitted, on the record, that if the true birth and citizenship information was made public, it would be "embarrassing to the candidate".
Maybe the data is embarrassing, but that should be far secondary to finding out if the candidate is truly eligible to serve.
Please promise that if the Democrat candidate is elected, the eligibility challenge will get a fair hearing at the Electoral College step. I believe Sen. McCain can win, but if the opponent wins, this country is in real trouble of we have a leader who is ineligible.
Many Democrats still hold a grudge saying that President Bush is STILL ineligible based on the 2000 vote. The "native born" issue is far more problematic.
Good luck in the election - you have my support.
Again, please promise to challenge eligibility at the Electoral College step if we get that far.
Best regards,
S.....

This guy could not pass a simple security clearance much less pass a vetting process for the office of President. All of these "dismissed" lawsuits should be used at the Electoral College level (per the Constitution) to prevent him from taking office. Who dares to "speak truth" to this phony and his ill-gotten power?!?!?!
Now the Repubican Governor of Hawaii sealed Barry's birth records until after November 4 - that was why he flew to Grannie's side.
I just sent this to Drudge
Shows up late to work and votes *present* most of the time.
I wouldn’t hire him to pick up our dog’s crap.
“You know, I believe your son is right. Unfortunately for America, Colin Powells endorsement probably trumps whatever General Curry has to say. This sucks.”
Oh, I don’t know about that. Powell was hated by the left, and then hated by the right. I don’t think his endorsement gave Obama the “bump” he had hoped for. But yes, it still “sucks”.
“No white person who hated blacks could be President either. It just would not be tolerated. But look! Obama was a member of a church that hated white people and Jews. He just does not belong as president of the USA.”
I agree.
For all of this to fall into place for hussein, unscathed, I have to believe that demonic forces are at work. And I thought only the klinton’s made a pact with the devil.
First, thank you for your service, Jackson57. Secondly, you are absolutely right. I would like to see a McCain/Palin ad that focuses on this particular issue, and I have no doubt our military would too.
hope I did this right
