Saw this response in an article related to Nevada early voter turnout (currently linked via Drudge)...
Want a job after the election? wrote on October 29, 2008 10:26 AM:
Dear Fellow Business Owners
As a Business owner who employs 30 people, I have resigned myself to the fact that Barack Obama, will be our next President, and that my Taxes and Fees, will go up in a BIG way.
To compensate for these increases, I figure, that the Customer, will have to see an increase in my fees to them of about, 8%. I will also have to lay off 6 of my employees.
This really bothered me as I believe we are family, here and didn't know how to choose who will have to go. So, this is what I did. I strolled thru the parking lot and found, 6 Obama bumper stickers on my employees cars. I have decided these folks will be the first to be laid off.
I can't think of another fair way to approach this problem. If you have a better idea, let me know. I am sending this letter to all Business owners that I know.
Sincerely
(Name withheld)
JOOA Corp.
LOL!
sounds right to me. Personal responsibility at it’s finest.
It may make sense to let the company know in advance of next Tuesday that increased taxes and fees mean reducing other costs, and that the largest cost on the books is payroll. Let them know they will see a 15% cut in costs in response to these new costs. The 6 w/ bumper stickers may not be swayed, but other more reasonable people may get the point that these taxes are going to hurt workers. It may wake up a few voters to the real meaning of “Change”.
Like there isn’t enough B/S to put up with during an election cycle?
One of my friends works for a small business and he is worried about employment if Obama is elected. His boss (the owner) has already determined how much of his staff of 40 will have to go in order to pay taxes under Odumbo’s business tax plan. On paper, his business may look “rich” if one only looks at the gross. After his overhead(utilities, salaries, benefits, property taxes, insurance, supplies, inventory, etc.), he really does not have that much remaining, but the current taxes are acceptable. He read Obama’s tax plan and immediately determined that he is going to have to reduce staff AND operations inorder to stay in business.
I note a direct inverse coefficient relationship between the DOW and Obama’s lead in the polls.
My one solace if he does go in, and that is still not certain, is that those who suffer the most will be his own supporters. Stupid is as stupid does and those houses will be the first on the auction block...
Somebody had posted a graph a couple of weeks ago, but I don't know if it's been updated or not.
As to the original question, I'm not a business owner, but I am a consumer and I hold a 401K. There's enough concern on my part that I may liquidate part of the 401K to pay off the house. Not because I can't make the payments, but because I'm deeply concerned about what a fully socialist government will want to do with my retirement savings, not to mention what they might do to the economy as a whole.
On the consumer side, I'll generally stick to staples, but I mostly do that anyway. No excess spending - I want to remain a little fat in cash for the proverbial rainy day.
We should put up a Freeper job board so we can hire like minded individuals
Perfect Solution!!!
I am a life-long bookkeeper.
Finding the traitors within his company was as easy as a stroll thru his parking lot.
Why do I call them traitors?
I feel that if you are working for a small (or any sized)business, and you are unaware of the regulatory pressures of a small business, which has the same papers to fulfill for the Govn’t as General Motors, and you have a Nobama bumper sticker on your car, Then you are part of the problem.
Not part of the solution.
I don’t need you inside the walls of my business.
I don’t need you not performing to the best of your ability, each and every hour you are on the payroll.
I don’t need you wasting time texting and talking on your cell phone on business hours, which many of you do without any thought that it is just plain wrong.
I don’t need you thinking with the entitlement mentality within the walls of this business.
I don’t need you wanting Unions running MY business.
I don’t need a person who has never invested a dime into this business and who isn’t responsible for any of the Accounts Payable items as part of the machinery within MY business.
Best solution I have seen in a long time.
Congrats to you, Sir.
Great minds think alike. IF the big o gets elected and the demoncrats get a large majority I plan to cash in my 401K and pay off my house and hide the rest before the socialists confiscate my money and give me an iou for my 6 figure 401K that has taken me 38 years to accumulate...THEN I will go on welfare like all the other slackers.
That is truly the best way to decide who to lay off.
0bama is the cause of the layoff, and these people wanted 0bama, so, by the transitive rule, they wanted to be layed off.
Great Idea
BTTT
When the fols that voted for Obama start losing their jobs due to Obama’s higher business taxes, maybe just maybe they will rethink their love of Obama.
