Credit-card experts explain the extent of Obama’s deception

I have over 30 years of experience in investigating Credit Card Fraud and I can tell you, which you may or may not know, that the merchant acquirer that is conducting the collection of credit / debit card for the Obama campaign are responsible for the actions to be taken regarding the Address Verification System responses. The value of the AVS system is that the issuer of the card being used provides back to the merchant acquirer a response based upon the information provided during the authorization process. This response indicates to the merchant acquirer if the card information was validated as to ownership of the account. It is the merchant acquirer that determines what to do when the authorization response is received. In most cases the transaction that comes back with any negative meaning is denied. However, if the merchant acquirer has adjusted their system to accept any response as acceptable the transaction would be completed.

The value of the AVS system is to deny Card Not Present transactions (CNP) which are suspicious. This protects the merchant against charge backs for bad transactions. What is interesting to me is that the merchant acquirer has knowingly violated a basic CNP fraud prevention technique to accommodate a merchant (Obama Campaign). I think that both the Associations (VISA & MasterCard) would be highly interested in looking at the merchant acquirer that was processing these transactions. The value of ignoring the AVS responses is that multiple invalid transactions may be made without fear of being rejected by the authorization systems. This means that the real owner of the credit card account is willing to allow multiple transactions to be made on the account using different names and addresses that under normal conditions would be denied. The merchant acquirer has a complete listing of all transactions done and it would be very interesting to see how many transactions were conducted on the same account number using different names. I would think that this would be a Federal violation under the current campaign funding laws.

Bring the reality of Obama's 'Spread the Wealth Plan' to the Kool Aid drinkers.

Instead of leaving a tip after a meal, leave this card.

Print them and pass them around. They will be perfect for the next 4 years if Obama actually wins.

Finally, someone in the know saying what I've pointed out a number of times. The merchant acquirer/merchant bank must be in cahoots with Obama's fraud. It is certainly happening over interstate wire and is thus federal wire fraud. Where's the Attorney General on this?

As someone who spent their formative years bartending and waiting tables, I’ve got to say please take care of those who serve you and always tip well when you get good service!

Pretty funny, though.

Through experience, I can also say the average McCain supporter/conservative tips way better than the typical Obama supporter.

“Where's the Attorney General on this?”

He's doing the same outstanding job he's been doing shutting down voter fraud by Obama and Acorn and mortgage fraud by Fannie Mae, Countrywide etc. In other words he is totally clueless and asleep at the switch.

I appreciate this discussion of the validation of the use of credit cards. Yes, the deliberate refusal of information on the person, and even nation, that is the source of the contribution, is a series of felonies under the Federal Election Code.

If Obama wins, he will appoint new Commissioners to the currently vacant spots on the Federal Election Commission. Then, these felonies will never be investigates. But this is one more reason why the engine of dishonesty which is the Obama Campaign, should be defeated.

Unfortunately, this issue has been all over the blogs for 2-3 weeks, reported to very news organization known to man, and there are NO reporters in America who care about FRAUDULENT CONTRIBUTIONS. Zero.,

I am so disgusted about the "Journalists" who look good and can talk without stammering but are otherwise lazy, incurious, arrogant, biased, pro-criminal nitwits.

Stop watching the "news." It isn't news. It's crap.

Excuse me while I go make some more calls for the guy who's already lost.

I work for tips.
I don’t think it’s funny ,cute, or the least bit decent for any one to be serious about passing out a card like that ...even as a joke.
There are honest hard working Americans having a hard enough time paying bills, having to wade through the cheap bastards they provide service for, only to deal with this kind of crap.
There are better ways of getting Your point across.

I check out AVS failures for my company. I found this article from the WaPo...here’s an excerpt, including a blatant lie from the Obama campaign (we didn’t know you could check the name, LOL, who believes that one.)

From the WaPo article:

The Obama team’s disclosures came in response to questions from The Washington Post about the case of Mary T. Biskup, a retired insurance manager from Manchester, Mo., who turned up on Obama’s FEC reports as having donated $174,800 to the campaign. Contributors are limited to giving $2,300 for the general election.

Biskup, who had scores of Obama contributions attributed to her, said in an interview that she never donated to the candidate. “That’s an error,” she said. Moreover, she added, her credit card was never billed for the donations, meaning someone appropriated her name and made the contributions with another card.

When asked whether the campaign takes steps to verify whether a donor’s name matches the name on the credit card used to make a payment, Obama’s campaign replied in an e-mail: “Name-matching is not a standard check conducted or made available in the credit card processing industry. We believe Visa and MasterCard do not even have the ability to do this.

If you really watch them, they are like Obama. Master teleprompter readers. On several recent occasions I have noticed that what they were reading was inaccurate, or didn’t make sense.

Also, some of the subtitled headlines have had outright spelling mistakes.

Shows me they only read, and really don’t think.............

Exactly. Any list of credit card numbers in front of "dedicated" donors means massive fraud. This is completely ridiculous. I wonder how many donations are pouring in from Nigeria.

The most important thing is that this could represent 100’s of MILLIONS of DOLLARS of campaign donations to Obama. I would guess that 75% of his donations came from the internet via credit cards!!!

As a former bartender, I have to agree with rewrite. I know you’re speaking metaphorically but still...

By the way, I tended bar for many years in D.C and without question Republicans are nicer to the “little people” and much better tippers than Democrats.

Obama is making our election laws look like a paper tiger - just like Osama thought we were before 9/11.

Are we going to do anything or are we too afraid of being called racist?
