My wife heard on the way home from work today that John McCain is leading O,Bama by 2% in early voting in Indiana. The report probably came from WRTV6,a she usually listens to that on the way home.

There were others going in at the request of Rush to vote for the Evil Hildabeast.

Anyone who lets a radio actor tell them how to vote has serious problems.

I thought they couldn’t open the ballots until election day.

I was wondering why McCain wasn’t way ahead in Indiana, and the ethanol factor explains a lot. I don’t always agree with McCain, but I have to respect him on opposing ethanol subsidies, because his position on this is better overall for the country even if it damages him politically in Iowa and a few other states.

Rush had an excellent idea. It was hardly a case of “following orders” to take that action. Besides, the Democrats picked McCain for us so why shouldn’t we pick their candidate?

“I thought they couldn’t open the ballots until election day.”

They can’t. They can though release data on what the party registration of voters is. So they know how many Dems have voted. In NC i’d imagine more Dems will vote R than vice-versa but they still have an early advantage anyway you slice it. Hopefully we turn that around on election day!

The Chicago motto is “vote early and vote often”.

The early vote in northwest Indiana (Chicago market) should be primarily Dem (Blacks and union members).

Not to worry.

Do they actually tabulate early votes at this time? I thought they waited until election day to do all the counting.

They do not tabulate early votes until election day. The early votes as well as absentee votes are delivered to the precinct inwhich the voter resides and are counted at that poll sometime during the day if time permits or after the polls are closed. Nobody knows what the early vote count is at this time or at least they shouldn’t.

Bayh is a legacy candidate (his dad was in congress) and grew up in D.C. not Indiana.

He had a stint as a mediocre governor, which is the most time he’s spent in the state.

He’s no more a Hoosier than Hillary is a New Yorker.

Extremely HUGH! My wife is STILL in line, about an hour, at the Hamilton County (In) voter’s place. She sez there are a ton of people there (Ham Cty is BIG republican area).

My wife JUST finished voting in Hamilton Cty. She was in line for 90 minutes with 10 voting booths going at the same time. She spoke to one of the workers and was told that they had served 2,000 voters today.
