URGENT: JOIN PRO-CHOICE LEADERS TO DEFEAT PROP 4
Dear Feminist Activist,
We're emailing you together for the first time, because the situation is critical. Never before have all of us -- leaders of the National Organization for Women (NOW), NARAL Pro-Choice America (NARAL), Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), and Feminist Majority Foundation -- joined together to ask for your immediate help.
Our message is urgent. We must defeat Proposition 4 in California. Right now polls show we are down by just two points -- 46-44 percent -- so we can still turn it around. This draconian, deceptive so-called parental notification ballot measure will endanger teens, especially vulnerable teens.
Please donate today so we can make the final push we need to win.
We have twice defeated such a measure in California. But this time, the proposal is far more dangerous and deceptive. It is reputed to be the most deceptive measure on the 2008 California ballot, and we can't let them fool the voters into hurting at-risk teens.
You can be sure that if we lose this anti-abortion measure in California, it will sweep the nation. Scared, pregnant teens who cannot go to their parents may feel forced to take matters into their own hands, seeking back-alley abortions, or even considering suicide. This law puts these vulnerable young women in danger. That's why we've joined together to ask for your help.
We must act now, before it's too late. Please join us by donating now to help us defeat Prop 4.
The Knights of Columbus just put in an additional $175,000 to pass Prop 4. We must match the Knights of Columbus and then some, to make our final ad buy for the No on Prop 4, Protect Teen Safety TV ad campaign.
Together, we can stop this dangerous ballot measure in its tracks. We're counting on you for our last crucial media buy. We don't have a moment to lose.
If we don't stand up for teen safety, who will? Please donate right now.
For Women's Lives,
Kim Gandy, National Organization for Women
Eleanor Smeal, Feminist Majority Foundation
Cecile Richards, Planned Parenthood Federation of America
Nancy Keenan, NARAL Pro-Choice America
P.S. We promise every dollar will go immediately toward No on Prop 4 media ad buy. Please donate now before it's too late.
Contributions to the Campaign for Teen Safety -- No on 4 are not tax deductible for federal income tax purposes. The Campaign is required to report the true source of all contributions.
This is very interesting on many different levels.
Remember, this is California that we are talking about which is a very liberal state.
I bet that the Presidential race is in actuality close to these numbers.
McCain 46
Obama 44
Is NOW in CA saying they will take personal and financial responsibility for teens who suffer physical or emotional problems post-abortion? No? Then they should butt out.

VOTE YES ON PROP 4!
The feminist’s straw man argument of girls who are abused not having the ability to get any help is pure propaganda. Any child who is in a truly abusive situation SHOULD go for help from other family members, school counselors, CPS and law enforcement. And Prop 4 makes provision for these situations anyway.

For Women’s Lives,”
What a load of crap. This is the organization that refuses to report statutory rape. And the the really don’t care about the little tiny women they kill every day. If I get one more mailing from these sea hags ( I don’t know how they got my name), I am going to scream!

HUH? You want it defeated?

What do you base that on? How much are you willing to bet(lose)?

I did some canvassing for YES on Prop 4 over the weekend.
Calm down! “We must defeat...” was quoted from the article.
LOL.
I'm perfectly calm.
But you seem to be jumping up and down.
In fact, they are using the exact same commercial that they used against the last Parental Notification Proposition.
No, no... I do not want Prop 4 defeated. The point that I meant to convey was that according to the poll, the liberal side of this issue was losing in a State that tends to be very liberal. This is very interesting.
Could it be possible then to extrapolate that McCain could do better in CA than what the national MSM polls are suggesting? My reasoning is that if CA goes for the conservative side of the Prop 4 issue, then maybe, just maybe, CA may be inclined to vote for McCain.
I believe that all the national polls being reported by the MSM showing that BHO is up by 8%-15% are garbage.
Many of my friends from CA both Republican and Democrat believe that McCain is comparable to Schwarzenegger in political disposition.
So, I contend that a poll attempting to measure the outcome on a single issue like Prop 4 may be a better litmus test on the overall political climate of that State than polls being reported by the MSM. In-other-words, the poll featured in this article on Prop 4 may be a better snapshot of what Californians are truly thinking on conservative issues. Back to the color of your beautiful eyes...
LOL! Thanks for that. I hold my own. ;-)
My reasoning is that if CA goes for the conservative side of the Prop 4 issue, then maybe, just maybe, CA may be inclined to vote for McCain.
I totally misunderstood the meaning of your post. My apologies! California is difficult to gauge when it comes to initiatives. Usually, it all depends on turnout. A predecessor of Prop 4 failed to pass in the last election (due to a loud liberal campaign and low turnout, IMO). A presidential election will normally get more people out to vote -- so that could be a determining factor in this election. But I think the dog wags the tail--as opposed to vice versa. In other words, I don't think that Prop 4 will bring out any more McCain voters than would ordinarily vote (especially since it isn't predicted to be a close presidential race). Prop 8 (traditional marriage) may be an exception. I think it will bring people to the polls that don't ordinarily vote. But there is a real bipartisan crowd supporting this, including a lot of family-oriented folks from the Black and Hispanic community that are reliably Democrat and will vote Obama.
I believe that all the national polls being reported by the MSM showing that BHO is up by 8%-15% are garbage.
Actually, some polls show him being up by as much as 30 points. I think those are garbage. 8-15% sounds about right to me.
Many of my friends from CA both Republican and Democrat believe that McCain is comparable to Schwarzenegger in political disposition.
That is NOT a plus! Schwarzenegger has done more to advance the liberal agenda than any Democrat could have dreamed of. He has literally led the charge, against 100% Republican opposition in the legislature, for global warming regulation, massive spending increases, irresponsible borrowing, etc. He opposes both Prop 4 and Prop 8.
So... how much were ya willing to bet? ;-)
Back to the color of your beautiful eyes...
Ya like blue, huh? LOL.

This is a very interesting angle and a factor that I did not account for in my analysis.
As for a bet...
How about trading massages? If I win, then you give me a massage. If you win, then I will give you a massage.
Let's see who comes closer to predicting next Tuesday. My prediction:
McCain 49.71%
Obama 49.29%
Surprises:
PA goes for McCain
VA,NC go for Obama
Personal stats:
6’-0”
190 lbs
Former college athlete
MBA
Professional knowledge-worker in the Washington, DC
Irish
But, before we collect on our bet, we should get permission from our spouses.
Dang. Permission denied. ;-)
As to the election, I'll be surprised if McCain breaks 45% in California. One week and we'll know for sure!
