We are Democratic Socialists because America deserves a raise.
And the only way we can be sure of getting one is with a strong labor movement. Arguably as important as a raise is the respect and security that a strong union movement provides its members. DSA is a proud and consistent supporter of organized labor and the right to organize and to bargain collectively; nothing is more subversive of corporate rule than a strong labor movement.
We are Democratic Socialists because we are internationalists.
We are internationalists because free trade, without agreements to protect the right to organize free and independent unions, without agreements to protect the environment, without agreements to protect employment standards, is nothing but a prescription for an economic race to the bottom. We advocate fair trade not free trade. We are internationalist because true national security is born from stronger multinational institutions guaranteeing democracy and justice, not from fighting mercenary wars to defend feudal monarchs and multinational corporations.
We are Democratic Socialists because we need new ways of working and living.
We believe democracy isn't just for the government at election time but needs to be expanded into how we live our lives and earn our living.
We are Democratic Socialists because racial inequality calls for more than overcoming "prejudice".
Racism is ingrained in our institutions and consciousness. Overcoming racism requires not only multicultural sensitivity but also changes in the distribution of power and wealth. Through our work in DSA's African-American, Latino and Anti-Racism Commissions, through our work in coalition politics, DSA works to build a progressive politics that unites all Americans around their common interests.

"We are Democratic Socialists because if you are for these things then that is what your opponents will call you, no matter what you say you are."
“And the only way we can be sure of getting one is with a strong labor movement”
labor movement means teachers, service workers and bureaucrats....not much left of the old trade unions these days.
Maybe you don’t need a raise, maybe you need to look for a more lucrative line of work.
I’m sure the guy working at the checkout at McDonald’s wants to make what an engineer takes home in pay. But who put in more effort?
Slackers, crack hoes and the generally lazy, rejoice.
“We are Democratic Socialists because America deserves a raise.
And the only way we can be sure of getting one is with a strong labor movement.”
The only way? How about harder work, bettering your knowledge or changing your life in some way? Nope, wouldn’t want to achieve anything on your own merit you leeches.....
Free!
Free!
Free!
The Liberal mantra of change. Changing intelligence, hard work, risk and innovation to pay for those with lesser ambitions in the name of “fairness”.
Obama will lose and this will be a fun week.
I always heard it said you get paid by the complexity of the problem you solve. Want to earn more? Solve bigger problems!
“We are internationalists because free trade...is nothing but a prescription for an economic race to the bottom.”
Come on guys, we have to admit when they’re right. Capitalist countries are in a race to the bottom, while socialist countries have a history of success, such as...uh...umm...give me a minute...
Probably the greatest quote about socialism/communism ever:
“How do you tell a communist? Well, it’s someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It’s someone who understands Marx and Lenin.”
- Ronald Reagan
Bigots of color unite!
How much is Obama going to give back for all of the problems he causes?
The White House is CERTAINLY above his pay grade.
How do you tell a communist? Well, its someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? Its someone who understands Marx and Lenin.
- Ronald Reagan
::::::::::::
The last President this nation ever had, and will have for a very long time to come. He loved America and hated communism. And look at how the sickening part of this country PRAISES at Marxist maggot like Obama -— this is worse than a bad dream.
Talk about slow learners! Strong unions are doing great things for steel workers, auto workers, airline employees, textile workers and the building trades. You can unionize, demand what you want and put yourselves all out of work.
The Unions just never had the government support them..what I mean is that the government has never fully thrown it’s full support towards communism.
On November 4th if this man Barack Obama is elected we enter the scariest (yes scarier than the Civil War) period America has ever known....a proletarian revolution period in which the country transitions from Capitalist to Communism and Obama will be the Vanguard of professional intellects who leads the proletarian revolution.
Honest to God if America doesn’t understand history and this movie has played before...only this time the revolution is in America and happens as a result of a free and open election I don’t know if this nation can be saved. Are we really going to do this? How in God’s Holy name can and/or will we do this?
Vote for Obama cuz I need the money.
