Cooper Arms owner Dan Cooper backs Obama. Can't post the article due to copy write infringement, But I thought you might want to know that a gun manufacturer is supporting a gun grabber. He said he was he was dazzled by Obama's speech at that year's Democratic National Convention.
He made twice the donation to the McCain campaign. I take that as to mean he’s voting for McCain.
Instead of piling on to shut down an American gun company, I would suggest everyone donate a little extra to McCain.
This article seems to be in direct response to the survey that stated 75% of the CEO’s in America consider an obama presidency a disaster.
Admin moderator, please lock the thread. It’s bs from the dinosaur media.
Regarding the USA Today Article. Cooper Firearms of Montana, Inc. did not contribute and does not support in any fashion the campaign of Senator Obama. Nine months ago Dan Cooper (personally) made an online donation to the campaign in an effort to help defeat Hillary Clinton and in protest of American plant closures and the shipping of jobs overseas. Three months ago he made yet another donation to the McCain campaign and the RNC totaling over twice that given to Obama campaign. There is no doubt that the article in USA Today has caused a considerable response. To this end we are encouraged and stand with our fellow NRA members and supporters of the Second Amendment and against those who oppose it. |
Were the words the reporter quoted inaccurate?
Dan doesn’t say that. If Dan said on his web page. “I was quoted correctly and I plead temporary insanity for the words quoted by the USA Today article. I’m am sorry.” I would feel better and feel like Dan wasn’t trying to be two faced.
Are you trying to get the other 4 threads locked also?
Many businesses are contributing to both sides to cover their rears. I’m not advocating hurting any business. We just need to know where people stand.
Cooper changed sides, he said, "probably because of the war. And also because the Republican Party has moved so far right in recent years."He also likes Obama's message about "the retooling of America, which involves the building of middle-class jobs and helping American small business be competitive with those overseas."
He's just trying to cover his ass now that it's been exposed.
Needed to be repeated in very large letters! Now that he's been exposed, he's trying to "save his a$$".
Operation Chaos?

What explains the donation to the Zero’s campaign for US Senate in 2004? Nope, no amount of cover-up will make me believe that Dan is anything but an outright supporter of the Zero.
It will be interesting to see what the gun magazines say about this treason. They usually don’t dare say anything that might offend their advertisers, no matter how treasonous their politics or how crooked their advertising. Ruger, S&W, and Mitchell’s Mausers are three good examples.
How did he make twice the donation to McCain before this controversy started? Way back machine?
Boycott Leatherman products. Tim Leatherman endorsed Kerry in 2004.

The employees, shareholders and board of directors of Cooper Firearms of Montana do not share the personal political views of Dan Cooper.
Although we all believe everyone has a right to vote and donate as they see fit, it has become apparent that the fallout may affect more than just Mr. Cooper. It may also affect the employees and the shareholders of Cooper Firearms.
The board of directors has asked Mr. Cooper to resign as President of Cooper Firearms of Montana, Inc.
Daily operations will continue with the competent staff currently in place in Stevensville, MT producing the finest, most accurate rifles money can buy.
Dan Cooper has spentall of his working life producing the highest quality rifles built here in the USA. He started with nothing but the American Dream and built that into firearms company anyone would be proud of. We firmly believe Dan stands by the2nd amendment.
We wish him all of the best in his future pursuits.
In response to the recent article highlighting Dan Coopers personal political donations, the board of directors, shareholders and employees of Cooper Firearms of Montana, Inc would like to issue the following statement.
Note to self: spacing and wording of that statement look a bit rushed and obviously the opening is at the end.
But looks legit as opposed to a defacement.
Doing some quick research on FEC

Nada to McCain from what I can see.
Oh, uh. Thanks for the information.
I hope there are donations to McCain campaign. I hate the idea of boycotting gun manufacturers.
Now can you go to work on the Bush/Palin team ...we'll give you six days to fix it. ;-D
Ya I didn’t know anything about this until I clicked on the Banglist earlier.
