Palin allies report rising camp tension
The Politico ^ | October 25, 2008 | Ben Smith

Posted on 10/27/2008 9:09:40 AM PDT by St. Louis Conservative

Even as John McCain and Sarah Palin scramble to close the gap in the final days of the 2008 election, stirrings of a Palin insurgency are complicating the campaign's already-tense internal dynamics.

Four Republicans close to Palin said she has decided increasingly to disregard the advice of the former Bush aides tasked to handle her, creating occasionally tense situations as she travels the country with them. Those Palin supporters, inside the campaign and out, said Palin blames her handlers for a botched rollout and a tarnished public image — even as others in McCain's camp blame the pick of the relatively inexperienced Alaska governor, and her public performance, for McCain's decline.

"She's lost confidence in most of the people on the plane," said a senior Republican who speaks to Palin, referring to her campaign jet. He said Palin had begun to "go rogue" in some of her public pronouncements and decisions.

"I think she'd like to go more rogue," he said.

Oh geez you forgot “Kumbayah”. The obama campaign supporters smell of patchouli. I’m sure of it. (ok there’s the smell of pot and the great unwashed but I’m tryin’ to be civil ;>)”

That’s the whole point of this issue - to attempt to demoralize conservatives. Some are falling for it here, most are not.

There’s a search function here at Free Republic.

Yes, there is. But it DOESN'T WORK.

It doesn’t work? I just searched for the title of this piece and immediately up popped the article- posted 3 times.

It may be folks are confused about how to use the search function. I use the one at the top right corner.

Thanks St. Louis 'Conservative' for once AGAIN posting negative/disruptive 'news'.

Hmmmmmm...'going rogue', the talking point focus of this week? Isn't it surprising that all MSM is NOW 'reporting' of the alleged infighting of the McCain/Palin camps. Going rogue?
Simply amazing how the MSM 'reports' within minutes of each other the same tired focus, the same trail balloon, the same reaching to see if anything negative 'sticks' with the American electorate.

I first noticed this technique in 2000 when all the major networks/cable instantly talked about the 'gravitas' of Governor George Bush. Gravitas, that isn't a word readily utilized in normal conversation. But it was a word utilized CONSTANTLY be every news channel. One only had to flip channels to discern this technique.

In the present campaign, Governor Palin was instantly deemed by the ENTIRE MSM to be only a token female selection. Then Gov. Palin's RNC acceptance speech was deemed acceptable only "because someone else wrote it for her (switching channels, it was instantly discernable that was the 'belief' of all analysis). In Gov. Palin's interview with C. Gibson the focus was on the Bush doctrine, although subsequent revelations set forth that there is not a readily discernable definition of said doctrine. In Gov. Palin's debate with Sen Biden the 'instant MSM analysis was that Gov Palin was just repeating well rehearsed practiced responses. Then last week was the omnipresent coverage of the $150,000.00 wardrobe spent on her family.

There are too many other examples of this nature. Perhaps there are pool reports available to all MSM... AAAAAhhh..wait a sec...isn't that called 'talking points'?

I didn’t look at this piece as negative, personally.

I am glad that Sarah Palin is “going rogue” as they allege. I trust her instincts better than some of the aides on the McCain campaign, many of whom probably have their own agendas. Some of them are old disgruntled Romney people who are trying to diminish her for a future run.

Palin has convictions, and I for one am glad that she stands up for them forcefully and doesn’t live and die by focus groups, polling, and media strategists.

Do you know what SEARCH is — this has been posted over and over again over the weekend and debunked. How much are the Dems paying you to try to disrupt on here? BTW, you can tell them it is not working and no amount of your proclaiming to be a conservative is going to work either.

You’ve been tagged, Troll. We read your In Forum posts. Lame try with reiterating the “rogue” description and your, “Palin has convictions” jive.

You’re a Troll, newbie.

St. Louis Conservative is a Troll. Don’t spend too much time on replying to it. If necessary, use the four letter word. The actually four letter word, unlike “jobs”. And I don’t mean the “F” word. More like ‘dump’.

McCain better realize that the only reason anybody is voting for him is Palin. If he cuts her loose or they keep attacking her, he’s doomed.
