Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers, some of whom are currently working for Sen. John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin's bid for the White House, have been involved in spreading ant-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election. "Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012," says one former Romney aide, now working for McCain-Palin. "The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney. He's in charge on November 5th."

“I have to disagree. AS Ive stated before, the GOP is in bad need of a youth movement. Palin started it. It will be followed with Jindal. Romney will be in his mid 60s in 2012 and will be seen as old school, no matter how good he looks. I dont think he will be able to get the nod, period.”
This is the same party that nominated Bob Dole and John McCain.
Never say someone is too old or too over the hill to be the Republican nominee.
Hey everyone, this is a typical Saul Alinsky tactic, create chaos amongst the enemy. Divide and conquer. Until some of these unnamed insiders are named, I am not falling for any of this crap. Just consider the source that is dishing it out.

And Eric Cantor is a rising star in the House.
Exactly. Sadly, there are many ready, willing and eager to take the bait and run with it.
Bzzzzzzt. Wrong. The venal, lying, coveting Romney did not
proving Romney only cares only about .......ROMNEY.
Last week, Romney came to my neck of the woods to hold a fundraiser for Peter Roskam of the IL-06. I had a conversation with a gal who supported Romney in the primary, but is voting for Obama and Roskam. The conversation went like this.
Me: How can you support Obama and Roskam? Those two are polar opposites. It doesnt make sense.
Mitten: Yes it does make sense. I want change in the GOP. An Obama landslide will force the GOP to change.
Me: Change to what?
Mitten: Change from the Religious Right. Those Evangelicals have dragged the country down. They dont care about the economy. Theyre obsessed about abortion and gay marriage. The GOP could nominated Romney who would have made America an economic powerhouse. But no. Their hatred of Mormons blinded them from more important issues. A GOP blood bath in November will discredit the Religious Right and damage the fundraising structure of the GOP. It will allow Romney to step in and build his roadmap for the White House in 2012.
Each man must not think only of himself, but also of his buddy fighting beside him. We dont want yellow cowards in this Army. They should be killed off like rats. If not, they will go home after this war and breed more cowards. The brave men will breed more brave men. Kill off the Goddamned cowards and we will have a nation of brave men.
Darwinism in action.
So the "conservative" American Spectator is holding water for the MSM by publishing gossip they got from CNN.
As for the Jeff Beatty section it seems the MSM is trying to sow discord among the GOP as well. The spectator is wrong to buy into it. Go to Beatty's webpage. He supported Romney as McCain's best VP choice this summer. Just a month ago in debating Kerry he spoke favorably of Romney's economic reforms and decried the reversals of Romney's economic agenda that has occurred under Deval in an August 16th speech.
I've seen quite a few posts about Rumors of former Romney supporters. They are just that. Every election Utah has the highest margins among any group for a straight GOP vote. IOW, they will vote for McCain and Palin in higher numbers than even Evangelicals.
These rumors smack of the same nature of the anti-Thompson rumors this summer. They were blamed on "unnamed Romney aides" as well. The actual person turned out to be a former McCain aide who switched to the Dem's who McCain had gotten rid of a few months earlier. But the liberal lies work. What is suprising is how many are willing to jump on the bandwagon. Which is worse liberals lying (which we expect) or conservatives believing those lies.
Great pictures.
It’s true! I got slammed today for saying essentially the same thing as this article.
McCain had no leaks when Rudy/Thompson/Huckabee people went to his campaign. After the Convention, when Bush/Romney people went to the campaign to ‘help’ the leaks started.
There is more to the story which I won’t go into now but suffice it to say most of the people that worked the primary campaigns of McCain/Thompson/Huckabee/Rudy won’t support Romney.
As those who have read my posts here on FR know, I’m NOT a fan of the Mittster - yet. I think it’s still to be proven if he is, in fact, a conservative.
That said, I don’t believe for a minute that Mitt Romney said anything publicly against Gov. Palin. #1, it would be political suicide for him to have done so with those of us in the base who strongly support Gov. Palin, and #2, I may not think he’s conservative, but I think he’s got more class than to say something like this.
Like someone posted to me here tonight, the GOP is all about seniority and romney thinks he has the senority and he knows if McPalin is elected his chances for ever being president are toast.. so, yes he is trying to tank the ticket and some people are buying into it....
BTW Romney is the only one not out campaigning for the ticket... noooooo he is undermining the ticket, this man is no better than Obama in many ways.
Afraid not, this is for real, many of us have known this for quite a while now.
and he is not out campaigning for McCain in Michigan or Utah.. Arnold is flying to Ohio this week, but Mitt remains MIA.
The Romney haters forever club tried to pin the Palin clothing leak on former Romney aides. It came out today that the source was Nicholle Wallace, a former Bush aide who also worked for CBS at one time.
Again, don’t hold your breath for an apology. I won’t. Integrity is not their strong suit.
