The otherwise sensible and somewhat conservative/libertarian LA talk radio station KFI (Rush’s flagship in SoCal) has a morning dj named Bill Handel.

Handel used to be sort of rational. He’s Iranian Jewish by heritage, moved to America as a kid from Rio. Lawyer, and he used to be sort of funny.

(he’s always talking about himself, which is how I know all this...)

He’s gone completely, over the top angry pro-gay media hack. He owns as a side business a fertility clinic which has lots of homosexual “couples” he gets huge money from, for medically arranged children. His partner in that business is if I’m remembering correctly, a Jewish lesbian.

And he has become a raving *lunatic* about Sarah Palin! It’s like he’s a madman when he thinks about her. Like a women, who can’t stand a prettier woman, actually. Same sort of reaction you see in the gay left, toward Palin. Except Handel is it would seem, a married straight guy.

He’s just become a nutball, about Sarah Palin though. Completely irrational.

I usually have my radio on KFI in the morning because of Coast to Coast am. It’s gotten so bad, I have to turn it off in the morning because Handel has become such a raving leftwing nutjob.

I think it’s a Jewish/gay thing somehow. I really don’t get it.

it was surmised by some that maybe her maiden name had been a Lithuianian Jewish name Sheigham changed to Sheerhan at Ellis Island

no evidence at all and never said as such by her parents

just a rumour promoted by bloggers

at Ellis they more often than not went by the manifest not a made up name.

i don’t care really...were she technically Jewish we could exploit that for positive

but we sure don’t get much play with her hubby being genuine 1/4 Eskimo-Inuit (?)

I’ve lived in OC since 1990, thank you very much...

I’m familiar with Handel...to be honest I can’t handle that male Fran Drescher/Nanny accent for long

he’s a lawyer....I’d wager at least 50% of lawyers are leftists

i was at a family wedding in Mississippi last month, my cousin married a family of tort lawyers

all fatcat Democrat white goy lawyers that think they are Matlock...most of my family barely spoke to them

Sorry. I guess that did come across sort of insulting, didn’t mean to be.

I guess we’re in different parts of OC. I’m pretty much surrounded by democrats 24/7, at work and elsewhere.

There are still pockets of strong conservatism, like Irvine and NB, but it sure seems to be changing fast.

Anaheim, Santa Ana, Fullerton, Garden Grove ... a whole swath, through that area of the county is (strongly) D now.

I know this is sometimes said as a throw away line, but seriously there are parts of Santa Ana which really are, almost exactly like being in a Mexican border town such as Tijuana or maybe Mexicali, nearly 100% first-or-second generation Mexican from all appearances - all the signage is in Spanish, even the same feeling to being there.

I love the cultural diversity in OC. It’s possible to very nearly experience a quick trip to Korea, Mexico, and Vietnam in just one afternoon by car, but seriously the massive democraphic shifts are (rapidly) changing the political balance in the county.

I think it’s likely Democrats will more or less own OC going forward.

I do think though, McCain could win with Latinos if he would just stop trying to act like a moderate, and start fighting a bit more.

Be a bullfighter. Get some swagger, and some attitude.

To: television is just wrong

you might be on to something I already voted via absentee ballot and voted for McCain however, sad to say my McCain/Palin sign sits in my dining room the only person able to see is the UPS man dropping off packages at my back door. I living in the bar area see very little Obama signs on cars and on lawns which I have found very strange I thought I would see more than I do. In Kerry vs Bush I had seen LOTS of Kerry signs

It’s okay, I understand. I stay away from Anaheim and Santa Ana whenever possible, too many gangs for me.

I believe Yorba Linda is still very conservative; this election will be verrrrry interesting.

There are so many things about McCain that I don’t get - why Rev. Wright cannot be discussed, why does he blame Wall Street for the financial mess we’re in - he should shout it from the rooftops that the Dems got us in this mess back to the days of Jimma Carter. and recount the history of how this all went down!!!! Tie the dems and UHUHUHbama into this whole mess!!!! The media keeps spreading the bs that it’s Bush’s fault!!! It’s not - it’s the dems!!

I’m so sorry that you’re surrounded by dems! That must be hard to take.

Not at all.

I sort of like being counter-culture, when faced with monolithic leftwing groupthink.

To me, that’s sort of what American individualism is all about. :)

“Unless a pollster can read minds, he has no way of knowing how an individual will actually vote in the privacy of the voting booth or when he or she mails in their absentee ballot.”

They claim to be prophets.

Nothing new.
