I was shocked to find that the NRA has endorsed Baron Hill for IN-9. This is insane, with a good Republican (Sodrel) who could have been endorsed in a very close election. Granted, Hill has only a 36% rating from the Brady Campaign, but our solid Republican representatives all are down in the single digits (with Pence leading the way with a 0% rating -- way to go Mike!).
GOA gave Hill a D- in their 2007 rating, but apparently the NRA thought he was good for an A in 2008.
I've always been in the "NRA is one of the good guys" camp, but this really chaps my hide. The Sodrel-Hill race will be darn close, and it would be great to get Mike back in DC.
I posted oops right after that...............:-(
I was raised in that district (Seymour) and went to college in Bloomington. However, I no longer live in the district.
I about passed out when I received an orange post card from the NRA saying that they were endorsing Kirsten Gillibrand (NY-20). WTF are they doing? This must be a fake mailing from the 0bama crowd.
See below where Gillibrand endorsed Hillary for prez. They’re very chummy which has to make you wonder.
The democrap is (almost) never the better candidate.
The plan is to get more pro gun dems into the party so we no longer have this us vs. them mentality.
It is US versus THEM. This helps the democrats by giving visibilty to a minority within their caucus that enables strongly anti-2A party leadership. Faux-conservative rats are the the scum of the Earth. Morons will think "oh maybe the dems aren't so bad" and vote for them. Is that what you want? Guns are a very important issue to many voters who might otherwise prefer democraps. Is that what you want? Do you back Baron Hill? Think about it.
For everyone else on this thread, please give your support to the NRA to defeat obama. The NRA is spending forty million dollars to defeat obama with commercials in key battleground states. Please help.
No. Give to some other anti-Obama campaign instead. If this organization backs democrats it's bad for conservatives.
We can thank the Dems for redistricting Bloomington into that district to keep Baron from losing, it didn’t work in 04 and even in 06 Sodrel still held Baron Hill to the smallest margin of the three Dem pickups in that state.
What I really hate about the Hill-Sodrel races is the Dems’ “Millionaire Mike” slogan. Shameless class-baiting at its worst. Sodrel’s only crime is that he’s successful. Why don’t we call Baron Hill “Robber Baron” in exchange?
Great analysis, as is the post above yours.
Sodrel does to. More so. And the democrats are a criminal organization, nothing that helps them in anyway is good for the 2A or any other conservative cause EVER. The only reason the rats have backed off gun control was because they started losing elections over it. Back in power they will pass anti-2A legislation. No Pelosi-Bots.
His Queen isn’t. Do you back Hill?
My post #29 is great analysis.
lol...no, I don’t back Hill. Just pointing out the facts, Jack. And the fact is he’s pro-2A.
The “R” in NRA stands for “Rifle”, not “Republican”.
They need to be partisan, like the unions all are. They should only back a rat in the rare instance he’s actually more pro-gun than the pub.
Sodrel > Hill
Lots of NRA sycophants here huh.
Something wrong with Mike Sodrel? No, he’s better than Hill.
No problem. ;)
He backs John Conyers for House Judiciary Chairman.
The NRA always endorses pro-gun incumbents; regardless of party. They wouldn’t get much done if they had a reputation for tossing pro-gun Democrats under the bus in favor of untried ‘Pubies.
(Oh, oh... Did I just offend a few Republican sycophants?)
Sodrel was the GOP incumbent until ignorant voters threw him out. An endorsement is one thing. THey are spending money helping him. You money if you give to them.
Unions get plenty done being lockstep for the rodent party.
