American Hindus, numbering around two million, would not endorse any single candidate for the November four presidential election, it has been reported.
The Indo-American Hindu leader Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said that religion was something sacred and spiritual; a tool for communication with God; ‘human response to divine Reality’; and meant for focusing the heart/mind of the devotee to some higher ideal. It should not be associated with materialistic objectives like partisan politics.

Good! I am opposed to block voting. Have an independent mind and think and then vote. You would be surprised how often you will vote conservative when you do that.
However, as a personal observation, let me add, that a lot of Center-Left South Asians (solely because they came here during the Clinton years and associate their prosperity with Clinton) will vote Republican for the very first time this year. They LEFT Socialism behind to come to a Capitalist land.

Most Hindus I know, especially those who have been here a while, support Obama. They have been indoctrinated by the MSM into hating Bush and they will vote for the One no matter what.

This year more than any other I can remember, the Catholic clergy is speaking out. Our rather liberal, peace and justice pastor this morning all but told us that we cannot vote for Obama. The readings today, Exodus and Matthew, would lead one to peace and justice and illegal immigration and giving to widows and orphans and “love your neighbor” etc. He turned that to talking about the intrinsic evil of abortion and how it is more important than any other issue because if you’re not alive, you cannot enjoy any other rights. Wow, he nailed it!! Go Father Mark.

What's the big deal about whether "American" is used as the adjective or the noun?
Are "tall Americans" less American than "American tall people"?
Are "American red-heads" more patriotic that "red-headed Americans"?
Really? What's the big friggin' deal?
If grammar is to be used by some as an American patriotism litmus test, shouldn't the form where "American" is the NOUN be favored?
The answer to the question "What are you?" is a noun.
Whatever noun you choose for the answer to that question is what you consider yourself FIRST.

I consider myself to be an American. When I’m in a geneological discussion I consider myself to ba an American of German decent.
Things like tall American or fat American are simply a matter of common usage words that really don’t overide the fact that one is American. Be thankfull they don’t because then we would have politicians pandering to “Tall American Republicans” or Fat Americans for socialized medicine”
