I like the fact that they call themselves American Hindus rather than Hindu Americans.

I've known lots of Indian-Americans and every one is grateful for the opportunity America has given them.

“grateful for the opportunity America has given them.”

For those who love to complain about the government, people, mores, etc. of America—it is refreshing that honest people who come here realize what a unique gift this country is.

Yes, while still expressing to vote for Obama. Our immigration laws are too relaxed, must tighten up--OOPS! Too late.

Those wonderful "opportunities" that they enjoy so much will soon be taken away from them via taxes and governmental micro-managing of their businesses, of course, compared to India even that might not be so bad to them.

What's the big deal about whether "American" is used as the adjective or the noun?

Are "tall Americans" less American than "American tall people"?

Are "American red-heads" more patriotic that "red-headed Americans"?

Really? What's the big friggin' deal?

If grammar is to be used by some as an American patriotism litmus test, shouldn't the form where "American" is the NOUN be favored?

The answer to the question "What are you?" is a noun.

Whatever noun you choose for the answer to that question is what you consider yourself FIRST.
