Yesterday, we had mandatory poll watcher training. There was a lot of info that we went over, but at the very end, the person in charge of the GOP election day activities told us that the Obama campaign had successfully sued to get a copy of all of the email correspondence between him and the Supervisor of Elections. This information included all of our names and addresses. He told us to expect a letter from the Obama attorneys, threatening us with jail time if we "interfere in the election process". Welcome to the Obamanation! Lawsuits for everyone!
Bring it, ya miserable gmokes!
When I get mine, I am going to frame it ornately and hang it in my livingroom.
Put it on ebay ...
I thought this was 2008, but I guess it’s really 1984.
Were you at the Broward training? I took the 1pm class there but had to leave before the end since it ran long. Thanks for the heads up.
Or maybe your homes will be burned down.
utter BS.
1. there is no suit, all information is online which county.
2. FL has a sunshine law there would be no need for suit.
3. again the storry is utter balony.
After scanning and posting a copy here, of course. :)
No, this was Palm Beach training. Not sure if you had the same guy (M.H. was his initials). Our training went from 10:00-12:30. Mostly, it was our attorneys haggling over the vagueness of some of the statutes. Some of the "in the trenches" stories from the old-timers from 2000 and 2004 was enough to make you pull up tent stakes and look for a plot of land in northern Idaho.
They did this in Florida in 2004. It intimidated a lot of poll watchers, as it was meant to do. Supposedly, the Dems were not going to do it again this time around, although I’m not sure the GOP ever got any legal injunction against the practice. Obviously, the Dems found it was effective.

seriously, there is no such suit in the palm beach online records.
FL’s sunshine law would make the emails public anyways. Emails are part of the public activity of the government.

I am just telling you what I was told. If you want to dispute the FL GOP, I will give you the email address. If you are accusing me of spreading baloney, you had best bring something better than a bunch of misspelled words to the party.
Don’t be intimidated. I’m sure the dems will have goons hanging out at every precinct in swing states. Don’t let them push you around. They are well-funded this time and will stop at nothing. I guarantee that by noon on election day, we’ll have 50+ stories of dirty tricks by the dem lawyers.
bttt
Interesting- I remember something like this in 04 as well.
Did they mention whether the RNC does something similar? I would imagine that both sides are trying to document and cover themselves on every possible front.
