Michael Barone stated on FOX News yesterday that the main problem they are having with polling today is that nearly 60% of people that they attempt to poll refuse to take the survey.

He said that evidence shows that Republicans were more likely to refuse than Democrats.

Barone stated that this applies to all polls, but especially to exit polls.

I’m convinced Obama’s in for a rude awakening on Nov 4th that he’s not that popular after all.

Wow, 60%? That certainly would explain a lot of skewed results in the polls. Add that to the biases of the TV and print media outlets and you have the makings of Obama-mania.

***poll refuse to take the survey.***

I have been voting for over 35 years and have NEVER, EVER ANSWERED ANY POLL.

Not face to face, not phone NONE.

How ‘bout the rest of you Freepers?

I bet if any of you do, you lie through your teeth just to drive them nuts.

Given that Hussein is nursing a 1-3 point lead over McCain in that vast majority of the polls means that he is in big trouble!

While I hadn’t heard this I know from my own perspective I’ve got to believe it’s true. I only have cell phones now but when I had a land line I very rarely would take a poll when called.

"He said that evidence shows that Republicans were more likely to refuse than Democrats." And by far the most "polling calls" are push polling, you can't really tell the difference at the outset, and my policyis to always say sorry, I don't have time," and hag up.

How would selection bias not dwarf everything else the polls are trying to measure?
