Why don't I see Obama signs?

Posted on 10/24/2008 7:19:23 PM PDT by RangerM

I do a good bit of traveling in my line of work, and have taken care to notice political signs in peoples' yards.

In the last month, I've been to Iowa, West Virginia, Oklahoma, Virginia, and Missouri. (I live in NC)

Now, I know that this is only my impression, but I can't get over the number of McCain signs I've seen, as opposed to the (lack of) Obama signs. With the exception of a very small part of West Virginia/Iowa, I haven't seen a significant number of Obama signs anywhere. Where are all these supporters?

Oklahoma/Virginia didn't surprise me, but Missouri? I thought I'd read that Obama was ahead in Missouri, and I bet the number of McCain to Obama signs ratio at least 5 to 1. Even in the case of the person supporting the Democrat Gubernatorial candidate, the house didn't have an Obama sign.

Seems strange to me. Any thoughts?

Did everyone hear that Obama is planning a victory party in Grant Park in Chicago on election night?

Oh YEAH. I know that eventually I'll be expected to pay for my 'share'of it too. Seen Daley lately? He's normally kind of a doofus, but now... I don't know what kind of pot he's smoking, but it must be pretty good. Giddy like a little girl on her birthday. I know he's convinced this election's in the bag. I know Daley, his attitude is more important than any poll. He knows things that they never will. And he stands to be a part owner, at least, of a president.

This is planned to be a MAJOR MEDIA EVENT, meaning the media themselves will be the co-stars. Worse than the Nuremburg event in Denver, probably worse than Nuremburg itself. There's so much already invested in money and prestige, that they absolutely must win. At any cost. Also, the City is hot to host the '16 Olympics, so That's why violence or disorder won't be much of an issue. Win or lose, positive PR is the rule.

The absolute effrontery of all this is an insult to this nation. The presumption and conceit are a challenge to everyone who gives a shit. That's why we cannot let this succeed. If they fail, They will fall apart. All this empty corruption will be seen, if for only a while, for what it is. I believe that this is the most important election of my lifetime, and it must be won.

It would be great to force Obama to give his concession speech at his “victory” party on Election Night.

There is only one house with Obama signs in my neighborhood and the signs are sitting mixed in with their Halloween tombstones, cobwebs, staked heads, etc.

Its pretty scary over there, especially with those Obamastein signs!

I'm a seminarian, and if God so wills it, one day a priest. The sheep need a shepherd to feed them even in tribulation, whether or not there be 'hate crimes' laws to obscure the Truth...

Especially in times of tribulation. God bless you. I was just thinking today that if 0 wins we will need the Church more than ever. I know I would be tempted to bitterness and unrighteous anger. Heck, I am tempted that way already. I most definitely need a shepherd to whack me with his crook now and then.

LOL I’m afraid to have the place vandalized. Out here in Tukwila the thugs far outnumber us. We’re beyond the silent majority. More like the invisible minority.

Oh, but I'm full of spit and vinegar and youthful carelessness... I'll probably need the shepherd's crook first to knock out some of the unrighteous anger before I can help anyone else...

And even if McCain wins this time around, this election is going to make the next one more difficult...

Baltimore City Republican Victory Party Meeting 3535 Chestnut Ave, 21211

Here is what I wrote to a misinformed gossip, dem, self-hating woman!!!!!

October 24, 2008 7:11 PM
Lisa says:

Wow! You should be ashamed of yourself for your negative comments about Gov Palin! All you have in life is being a lowly gossip blogger while this woman is an ELECTED former MAYOR, 82% approval rating GOVERNOR, PTA MEMBER, mother of five, NRA supporter, mother of a soldier fighting for your right to freedom of speech, Pro-Lifer, that means not Pro-Abortion!

BTW, she does not want to overturn Roe v Wade, she just doesnt want to promote abortion! There is something called adoption you know! I come to this website for celebrities, not political commentary!

When are you going to realize that to be a successful person, no matter what your profession, you have to keep your political stance to yourself!

But, then again, since you will never make over 250k I guess you think you are immune to the Messiahs tax increase, right.
We will see who is laughing after election Day!

I’m in Columbia, MO, home of the U. Of MO—which is more liberal than most places in Missouri. The county went Bush last time. I have seen some Obama signs here, but NOWHERE near the amount of Kerry signs in 2004. There are some McCain signs and stickers around—not as many as Bush signs. I agree with those who said people just aren’t talking. A huge turnout is expected here, though.

I did see a McCain sticker on a Prius.

I had a McCain/Palin and a Dole sticker on my Scion until someone removed them for me.

I live in a rural area of Missouri and travel back and forth on I-44. There are no Obama signs but plenty M/P signs on my route.
And I should add that you can see other democrat signs galore advertising Jay Nixon and others, so the democrats are puttting their signs up.
However, they are not adding the ‘Obama’ sign.

There is one Anti-Obama sign that states something like “Obama takes our tax dollars and we can keep the change”.
Nice slogan. :)

I made a CD with about 600mb of anti-obama clips, mostly from you-tube.
Also a printout with words from Dr. James Cone’s book that is very anti-white and anti-american.
I’ve been giving them out, even to strangers. I’m bold enough to start a conversation with strangers.

One guy said he is a Democrat and has NEVER voted for a Republican candidate, but Obama scares him. This man will vote for McCain.
I was so happy about that conversation.

Believe it or not... A lady I know, a black lady who will be voting for McCain, just found out THIS week, that Obama's middle name is Hussein. Can you believe it?

Outside of urban St. Louis and Kansas City, Missouri is solid red. Even the counties that Jefferson City (capitol) and Columbia (Univerity of Missouri) are in went for Bush in 2004.

It’s not going to be easy in Missouri...KC gave us our worthles Dim senator in 2006 with some voting “irregularites.”
