NBC News, which keeps the most widely followed of the media electoral-college estimates, on Friday night said it is moving the closely watched battlegrounds of Virginia and Colorado to lean Obama, putting its estimate for the Democratic nominee over the 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency.
President Bush won each of those states by 5 points or more in both 2000 and 2004.
Before the move, NBCs count had Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) at 264 electoral votes, to 163 for Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), with 111 as tossups.
Were going to be, this weekend, moving Virginia and Colorado two tossup states into the lean Obama category, political director Chuck Todd told NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams from Chicago. That moves his total to 286.
The move is congruent with projections by others, but marks a milestone because NBCs count is so closely followed by the press and campaigns.

Wasn’t NBC the first to call President Gore?
They should have declared the winner 18 months ago, so we wouldn’t have to go through all this crap.
Yup..
Expect salvo after salvo of this stuff ..
They should have declared the winner 18 months ago, so we wouldnt have to go through all this crap.

Amen to that. what a ride.
Well, Padre35 is making a prediction:
By January, Keith and Chrissy will be sharing a card table and posting their shows on Youtube due to budgetary cutbacks at NBC/GE.
Let me say this again, watch the undecideds in the TIPP poll (12%), they pretty much control the election, and of course Republican Base turnout turnout turnout, we always overperform their projections.
Inflated contributions reported and inflated Democrat voters roles give the illusion of the inevitability of an Obama presidency. When these elevated expectations do not materialize there will be significant civil unrest.
Please understand...
OBAMA / AYERS DON'T CARE
Everything about their radical background says that they will use any means necessary to secure control of the government. And if it takes the form or rioting in the streets even more the better.
The more confident the left gets about their impending victory the more confident I get in their impending doom.......
Who really gives a Rat’s posterior what NBC and Politico think or say? Not I. It’s all just enemy propaganda, like Tokyo Rose.
I guess GE (NBC) is worried McCain may look into their dealinsg with Obama’s pals in Iran. GE is pretty much an evil company. I dealt with people from GE and know doctors who dealt with them and they are nasty arrogant people.
Oh good, they’ve called it 11 days before the election. Since the Dems have already bagged it up, perhaps this means they shouldn’t vote.
If Obama wins, I might just kill myself. There’s no point in living if my country becomes lost forever. An Obama victory means the people of country no longer have a patriotic feeling in their soul, it means a majority of Americans hate their country. It means America is dead and a would rather die with my country than live in Barack obamas evil empire.
“Let me be the first to call you President Kerry!” Just when we were over the 320 vote Kerry landslide along comes DNCB.
Pray for W, McCuda and Our Troops
Along with the New York Times Junk rating.
Was Chuck slobbering all over himself when he said that?
You know, McCain deserves a lot of credit for staying in this long. He by rights should have given up weeks ago, right after he picked Sarah Palin, which was obviously such a horrible thing to do. That woman doesn’t even deserve to BREATHE.
He might get a part in The Coronation if he would just cooperate and concede the race now.
