I ran across this scripture this morning and it may have said more than all of these articles and opinion columns put together.
My son, fear the LORD and the king; Do not associate with those given to CHANGE; For their calamity will rise suddenly, And who knows the ruin those two can bring? Proverbs 24:21-22
Thanks for the post. I will be looking this up and getting the complete context. Of course, the Bible speaks against liberalism in many of its books. Big gov’t is even frowned upon by God.
Almost as good as Ecc. 10:2
Proverbs 24:21-22
My son, fear the Lord and the king; Do not associate with those given to
change; For their calamity will rise suddenly, And who knows the ruin
those two can bring? (NKJV)
Solomon was wise ;)
Aren’t both major party candidates trumpeting major change? We know Obama is, but don’t the mavericks also want to change the way things get done in DC?
Oh, the Bible’s all over pointing at 0bama as an anti-christ. (Not THE anti-christ, just A anti-christ)
1 JOHN 4
1Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.
4You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 5They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. 6We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit[a] of truth and the spirit of falsehood.
Notice verses 5 & 6. It’s obvious that 0bama “speaks from the viewpoint of the world” instead of from God. And it’s obvious that people listen to him and not to those who speak from God.
Notice also, the concluding sentence. The “Spirit of truth” is God, the “spirit of falsehood” is a direct reference to Satan.
I think it's New King James, although the Updated NASB says virtually the same thing.
That would be a good tagline during this election.
That’s a good translation, the NAS and Green’s Interlinear (literal word for word) are both very close to the NKJV.
Thats a verse I noted several months ago thinking of exactly the same thing. Change can be good obviously in areas like repentance, but generally those who advocate change do so for the sake of personal gain. The Lord describes Himself as eternally unchanging, unlike man who the Bible describes as fickle, always given to change with evil always present as a result of the fall.
0 has elevated change as a goal for nothing more than the sake of change, really a characteristic of evil.

“Do not associate with those given to CHANGE; For their calamity will rise suddenly, And who knows the ruin those two can bring? Proverbs 24:21-22
1Cr 15:33 Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”
That’s why his past and present associations matter.
THE PHILOSOPHERS HAVE ONLY INTERPRETED THE WORLD IN VARIOUS WAYS - THE POINT HOWEVER IS TO CHANGE IT

The LORD has spoken on Change!
That’s awesome. Thanks DocRock.
Great post.
I believe the reference here is a warning against hanging out with revolutionaries.
The problem is that in the American context, the revolution is very far advanced. Those who have no regard for America’s founding principles, and who advocate policies that are in direct opposition to those principles, are largely now in charge.
And it ain’t just Democrats either.
2 Cor 2:15-16 also explains the reaction to Sarah Palin.
The scent of Christ is life to those who are living, but the stench of death to those who have chosen to die.
Those with the “scent of Christ” are attractive to His people, but repellant and abhorrent to those who have rejected Him.
Thanks.
