DETROIT -- Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick has scarcely been seen around town since his resignation in September, but attention is once again being drawn to him for a lunch he had Thursday.
It would seem Kilpatrick was trying to take advantage of a perk he had while mayor, exclusive lunches at exclusive Detroit restaurants.
Every mayor of Detroit is given an honorary membership to the Detroit Club, a private club on Cass Avenue downtown.
The club is known for the socializing and business that happens inside it by some of Detroit’s most influential leaders, including Kilpatrick while he was in office.
Since Kilpatrick’s resignation, his membership has been canceled.
But Rescue 4 has learned that Kilpatrick asked to have lunch at the club Thursday with three other men and the club made arrangements.
At the end of the meal, which cost $73.16, sources told Rescue 4 Kilpatrick signed his name, told club members to “charge it to the city” and walked out.
An additional $50 was added to the meal bill for the use of the club’s Directors Room, a private room on the fourth floor that was closed Thursday but opened to accommodate Kilaptrick, sources said.
The receipts show a date and time, with Kilpatrick’s signature clearly visible.
Sources at the club told Rescue 4 they made it clear to Kilpatrick that he would need to use a credit card to pay for his lunch.

$73.16 for the meal (CHEAP for 4 men!) plus the $50 charge for using the room = 123.16. The headline says $126.16. I don’t get it.

I can vouch that Cleveland is not far behind in arrogance and idiocy under Democrat rule for the last 12-16 years with Michael White/Jane Campbell-caucasian/Frank Jackson.
We need a thread that exposes all Dem mayors across the Country. Explaining how they’ve attached themselves and thier buddies to the teet and have not let go!

I’m starting to think that entire states should be able to vote in large city elections. The large cities exert far more influence over their states than they should. If it weren’t for total democrat control, corruption, and fraud in Detroit, Michigan’s entire political landscape would change dramatically.
83 counties in Michigan and 9 or 10 of them make us a blue state.
the only reason i bring up black democrats is that i don’t believe there are, maybe, just a few if any black republican big city mayors. At what point do blacks start to realize that democrats just do not have the answer to helping them. After 7 decades of failure you’d think there would be an awakening but old habits die hard.
The former mayor of Atlanta, a black man who ran a foul administration, got out of prison today.
The only positive you can say about Mayor Jackson IN Cleveland is that he may be a little better than the last mayor.
