Palin scores TD with Dems at stadium
Pittsburgh Post Gazette ^

Posted on 10/24/2008 1:28:13 AM PDT by Chet 99

Sarah Palin invoked Joe the Plumber and Joe the Quarterback last night in a combination political-pep rally in a packed football stadium in Beaver County -- an overwhelmingly Democratic blue-collar region being energetically sought by the Republican ticket in the waning days of the presidential campaign.

Ms. Palin, the GOP vice presidential nominee, invoked native son Joe Namath's upset win with the New York Jets in the 1969 Super Bowl and attacked Democratic nominee Barack Obama's economic proposals as socialism.

"He's hiding his agenda of redistributing your hard-earned money," Ms. Palin, the Alaska governor, told a raucous crowd at the Beaver High School Stadium.

She cited Mr. Obama's encounter earlier this month with Joe Wurzelbacher, a Toledo, Ohio, plumber who pressed him to explain his tax policies. At the time, Mr. Obama cited his proposal to raise taxes on incomes over $250,000 as an attempt to "spread the wealth."

"Somehow Joe accomplished something none of the rest of us has been able to do. He got our opponent to finally state his intentions in plain language," Ms. Palin said. "Joe the Plumber said it sounded like socialism. Now is not the time to experiment with socialism."

Even before Ms. Palin invoked that term, some in the crowd were shouting it, with one adding, "Tell him to go back to Indonesia. Tell him to show his birth certificate."

an interview of Phillip Berg. The guy didn’t sound like a nut

I frankly thought he must be a nut, even though he was a "Democrat". We hear the same old, same old, tired "I used to be a Republican, but now I'm voting for XXX because of YYY" bullsh!t, and immediately know that this person can't even spell Republican.

I read yesterday, however, that the guy is the former Deputy AG of Pennsylvania, which, while it doesn't mean he's not a total nut case, does mean that he has more of that liberal favorite word "gravitas", and certainly more credibility.

When I correspond with any woman of any age, if do not know her martial status I write Ms. If I do know the status, I’ll write Mrs. or Miss.

So, following that logic, should she go by Sarah Heath? Or Sarah Heath-Palin?

I don’t know about everyone here but I feel this race is turning. There is something breaking beneath the waters and it is something good. We have been blessed and our enemies are being laid down before us.

The American public is starting to realize that foreign money (probably Saudi muslim money) is attempting to buy the presidency.

Will the American people sell the presidency???

“The guy didn’t sound like a nut”

Phillip Berg is a 9/11 truther.

However - that doesn’t change the fact that Obama has yet to produce a certificate.

Even conspiracy nuts can get some things right I suppose.

“eh who says Obama owns the youth vote?”

Last week there was a thread about Paris Hilton paying compliments to Sarah.

It would have been interesting if she had been used for campaign purposes.

Yes, but look at the eyes on the guys. They are all looking at her eyes; not one set looking inappropriately. That speaks volumes, if you ask me.

“Her body posture tells me she is quite aware of her predicament - wearing a skirt and having those young men under her.”

Especially because those young men are wearing “Beaver” shirts.

Yes indeed it’s turning!

She was in Pennsylvania coal country, a place that has been a longtime union Dem bastion. Joe the Dumber’s remarks’ about coal and Murtha the Mindless’ comments about racists and rednecks have turned that county against the Dems.

If McCain and Palin can pull off an upset in PA, then they can afford to lose a couple of smaller Bush states (CO and NM) or a large one (Virgina) and still win this thing.

Keep the faith!

More along the lines of...

Running dog lackey of capitalist imperialism, a bourgouise traitor to the protletariat, a lickspittle idler and a kulak parasite, a Bonpartist pig, a Trotskite facsist hyena, a ranchevist, a stoner, a lazybones, and a class traitor!

“Ms. Palin, who unveils what the campaign is calling her first public policy speech this morning at the Airport Marriott, made pointed reference to the McCain-Palin ticket’s position on abortion and promised as well to be an advocate for special needs children.”

I wonder, in an Obama national “free” healthcare plan, how many like Baby Trig would be denied life-saving (expensive) care because of his lack of ability to “fully contribute to society?”

Sad and scary.

This is not "coal country". It used to be "Steel Country". The dems have had a bad year in Beaver County. More than a couple of them are going to jail.

Now we have people questioning if Obama is a socialist. The DBM is reporting it (eventhough they are defending him and saying he isn’t). The good thing is that there absolute proof that he WAS apart of a socialist group. That shoe should drop soon

The [Quinnipiac] poll shows Mr. Obama with a 13-point lead [in PA]. He also holds a 5-point lead among white voters and blue-collar voters, groups Democrats have lost in Pennsylvania in recent presidential elections.

Quinnipiac should have been embarassed to publish this poll. Maybe once upon a time anyways...

Jeremiah Wright apprentice lost the White vote to Hillary Clinton by 30 points during the democrat primaries in Pennsylvania but now an insane pollster is telling us that he beating McCain by 5 points among Whites.
