BOISE A new campaign commercial from a national Republican group targeting Idaho Democratic congressional candidate Walt Minnick has angered a nonpartisan organization that says its candidate survey is misused in the ad.
Thats pretty flagrant, Adelaide Elm, a board member of Project VoteSmart, said of the National Republican Congressional Committees new anti-Minnick ad.
The ad claims that Minnick supported higher income taxes across the board, citing the 1996 candidate survey that Project VoteSmart published when Minnick was running for the U.S. Senate 12 years ago and also citing 1996 and 2007 federal tax tables.

Minnick NEVER says he's the democrat....he leaves that off most of his radio/tv stuff....
I hope Idaho is smart....we don't need any more "good" rats because they all follow the same rat leader.....
There obviously not quite as non-partisan as they claim to be.
That said, if I still lived in Northern Idaho, I would vote for Sali.
I'm too young to remember Andrus when he was governor, only to remember that my grandfather still to this day can't stand Andrus.
The other day I was thinking that it's unfortunate for Minnick's sake that he's running in the first district. He'd probably have an excellent chance to unseat Simpson than he would Sali.
I never voted for Andrus but there were certainly a lot worse Democrats than he was. If your grandfather couldn't stand Andrus, ask him about Frank Church. That should get him going.
