An almost ten minute excerpt from a 1982 Canadian Broadcasting Corp. documentary on the KGB. The posted section focuses on Communist Cuba's involvement in training, funding and giving orders to the Weathermen.
Much of the info comes from an interview with Larry Grathwohl, who is in the film No Place to Hide.
The CBC documentary ties the Weathermen, the Cuban government and a French-Canadian seperatist group, the FLQ.
The documentary also features an interview with an unnamed Cuban and an unnamed figure involved with the FLQ and a 1965 plot by balck radicals to bomb the Statue of Liberty.
The video was just posted today.
Grathwald says Ayers told him to go to Cuban embassy in Canada or Mexico to reconnect with Weathermen if they lost contact with the group.
Weather Underground Organization linked to North Vietnamese and Cuban governments, KGB (my title)

In 1976, the FBI's Chicago Field Office prepared a summary which described the activities of the Weather Underground Organization, also known as Weathermen. This organization described itself as a revolutionary organization of communist men and women. The FBI's analysis of its motivations, beliefs, and international travels are outlined in this summary.
[some excerpts from the 1976 report linking the organization to foreign governments...]
From the moment in October, 1967, when Radio Hanoi announced the formation of the South Vietnamese Peoples Committee for Solidarity with American People (by the National Liberation Front (NLF), the political arm of the Viet Cong) with the objective of establishing relations with "progressive organizations and individuals in the United States," a political front was enjoined in behalf of the national interests of the Democratic Republic of North Vietnam (DRV) (and the NLF), the purpose of which was to intensify the anti-war sentiment in the United States.
From the initial meeting between the Vietnamese and leading anti-war activists held in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia, in November, 1967, to the July, 1969, meeting with leading Weatherpeople held in Havana, Cuba, the influence of Vietnamese representatives on the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) leadership became sharply pronounced. At the same time, the example of the Cuban revolution became the guide for the emerging American student revolutionary. With an increasing number of trips to Havana where the youthful revolutionary could learn at first hand how to create revolution, the influence of Cuba on the developing WUO [Weather Underground Organization] was enormous.
The WUO obtained their revolutionary methodology from the Cubans and Vietnamese and, importantly, put into practice what they had learned from them. The Weathermen, of course, did not just happen to come about during the June, 1969, SDS National Convention. They fully admit their radical heritage began during experiences gained in SDS and as shown herein their international contacts with representatives of the DRV and NLF which began in 1967 increased their anti-imperialist consciousness so that by 1969 they had solidified their revolutionary commitment to include the maximum optimum of armed struggle. So, when Huynh Van Ba, representative of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of Vietnam (PRG), instructed the WUO to "look for the person who fights hardest against the cops...Don't look for the one who says the best thing. Look for the one who fights," the campus base was forgotten and the WUO began to recruit the greasers and assorted oddments who had displayed their hatred of authority in direct combat with police.

Article: Obama's Foul Weather Friends
By Scott Swett and Roger Canfield
"As a gesture of solidarity, the Vietnamese who [Bernardine] Dohrn met in Budapest presented her with a ring made from an American aircraft shot down over North Vietnam. Bill Ayers would receive a similar ring while meeting with Vietnamese communists in Toronto. He later recalled being so moved by the gesture that he 'left the room to cry.' He said, 'I realized...America was an evil... and that I was... living inside the belly of the beast...' "

The FBI site might be a little harder to argue with.
The real question is: Why are people like Ayers walking around alive and free? Looks like there’s no such thing as a domestic enemy. Or no ACORN-based voter fraud worth prosecuting.
Nothing to see here, folks. Just a few signposts on the way to the fall of the Republic.
Makes you wonder what the heck our government was doing all this time (NOTHING!!)while Ayers and his group have infiltrated our governement and school system and have been brainwashing our youth for decades.
ping.
Hmmm I didn't know that was a real plot ..
In the 1972 Barbra Streisand movie "Up the Sandbox" Ms "BS" fantasies being part on this exact plot... the left is just so lovely

"they [the Weather Underground] employed revolutionary jargon, advocated armed struggle and black liberation and began bombing buildings, taking responsibility for at least 20 attacks. Estimates of their number ranged at times from several dozen to several hundred."

Ayers wife, Bernadine Dohrn = Domestic Bin Laden
From;
http://www.sodahead.com/question/155269/
Bernadine Dohrn made numerous contacts with Fidel Castros Cuban Mission at the UN in 1968 and 1969, during which time she arranged for SDS groups to visit Havana.
After returning from Cuba, Dohrn and others met with North Vietnamese and Viet Cong representatives in Budapest, Hungary, to discuss antiwar strategy on US campuses. Speaking a few days later at an assembly of revolutionary student movements at Columbia University, Dohrn reported that the Vietnamese communists she met in Budapest were working with US GIs in Saigon, attempting to obtain military information.
In January 1969, at the request of the Cubans and the Vietnamese, Dohrn assembled another SDS delegation to travel to Havana to plan what the Chicago Sun-Times called an antiwar campaign during an eight-day seminar with representatives of Hanoi and the Viet Cong.
Dohrn became a key planner in the founding of the Venceremos Brigades. Ostensibly a solidarity program for US leftists to visit and support Castros Cuba, the group was actually organized by Cuban intelligence as a covert attack on US security.
Cuban secret police offered the brigadistas money, advice and logistical support. Some Americans were also given guerrilla warfare training and instructed in the use of weapons and explosives.
While they were in Cuba, Huynh Van Ba, a representative of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of South Vietnam (Viet Cong) advised his American allies to look for the person who fights hardest against the cops. Dohrn stayed in telephone contact with Ba after returning home.
Bill Ayers I realized...America was an evil... and that I was... living inside the belly of the beast....
One FReeper, not too long ago, responded to this by saying something like: We (America) need to have a major bowel movement and finally purge these POS traitors from our system! ('inside the belly') I thought that was the perfect response.
Off Topic.
Whenever I hear/read that term “belly of the beast”; it always reminds me of Bin Laden.

Well, here’s a Wikipedia on one of the Weathermen that says she visited
one of Soviet KGB Colonel Vadim Kotchergine in Cuba.
I may be confused, but I think this may have been the unrepentant
stinker that was lovingly profiled on one of the “news magazines”
on television (Sixty Minutes?).
Nice to see that at least one of the little terrorist punks admits
they were in league with The Evil Empire.
Laura Whitehorn
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laura_Whitehorn
“
Having worked as an organizer for Students for a Democratic Society (SDS),
Whitehorn became a member of the Weathermen/The Weather Underground
organization in 1969.[citation needed]
She traveled with them to Havana, Cuba as part of the organizations
instruction in the ideology of Marxism and urban warfare, visiting one
of the camps established by Soviet KGB Colonel Vadim Kotchergine.[3]
“
Thanks. Great info!
Many of the Weathermen fled to Cuba to escape authorities in the US.
