Those undecideds — they break HEAVY for McCain. Mark my words.

I think that what we will see is what Bush experienced vs. Gore that last weekend before the election. At the last moment people will decide they do not want to risk a newcomer and go for the tried and true.

They did the same in the Dem primary also.

Only 0.0765% of blacks are undecided. That may help McClame with the undecided vote.

I agree with you. The undecideds will indeed go for McCain by a fairly large margin. All of the left-leaning independents are already on his side. For the remainder, if Obama and his media lackeys haven’t sealed the deal at this point, its not going to happen.

That’s why I believe that if Obama is polling 45% on the day of the election, I’d say there’s about a 90% chance that he’s going to lose, even if McCain is polling low 40s/high 30s.

The undecideds should really be categorized under “Both choices are awful.” What a crummy election. *sigh*

I'll bet so too! IIRC in the primaries the undecideds never broke ffor Obama. His last polling number was pretty much what he ended up with. I think 45 is his peak.

This poll is good news. I was dreading its release, but it had shown a trajectory towards McCain yesterday, so I was hoping it carry further. If the others, particularly Rasmussen and Gallup, go into the same direction now strongly we could have a meme just in time for the weekend.

A couple of observations about this poll.

The pro-Mac youth vote isn’t a fluke. I looked at this and the previous 10 IBD/TIPP tracking polls and McCain won the yutes 6 out of 11 times. This, along with the news from Gallup that first time voters are tracking about the same as 2004 = bad news for Barry.

The huge swing in Catholics is huge for Mac, especially in OH and PA. Let’s hope this is accurate and holds.

I estimated a Dem vs. GOP sample advantage of about +2%, so this poll is reasonably weighted.

Considering that the media and most liberal talking heads are dutifully reporting that any white McCain supporter is a racist redneck, I’d be willing to bet most of them are simply saying they’re undecided. Add to that the vandalism and violence the Obama thugs are responsible for and I think it’s a no-brainer.

McCain’s hand is steady on the throttle as he lines up the final approach.
