Ugh! Can the mainstream media (all news channels, local & national) please stop it already with the “Obama-will-visit-his-gravely-ill-grandmother-in-Hawaii-later-this-week”? We’ve been hearing this since Sunday afternoon.
Apparently, Grandma Dunham must be feeling better if Barack is dancing on “Ellen”, in a segment taped on 10/21. If she has a broken hip and was hospitalized last week, wouldn’t it had been logical for her grandson to wish her well during his debate with McCain last Wed., and perhaps leave for Oahu right after the debate to see her? But no. Like everything Barack does, there needs to be a 5-day media ‘build-up’ to this visit (especially after spending 3 days in ‘senior citizen land’, Florida).
Even my 97 y/o grandma in Puerto Rico said to me this morning that Barack is a wonderful grandson who takes the time from running for President to travel across one hemisphere to see his grandma (making me feel guilty?) First my son said last week that he wants Barack to be his ‘daddy’ and now my grandma wishes she had Barack as her ‘grandson’. Unreal. Prayers up, Ms. Dunham!
