KEY REGION COULD BE DIFFERENCE; STATE'S A DEAD HEAT
With less than two weeks until Election Day, a new Orlando Sentinel poll hints that Republican Sen. John McCain may be gaining the traction he desperately needs to win Florida -- a state that's still too close to call.
The poll, by Mason-Dixon Polling & Research, shows McCain leading Sen. Barack Obama 46 percent to 45 percent. With a margin of error of 4 percentage points, that's a dead heat. Pollsters interviewed 625 likely voters Monday and Tuesday.
The numbers represent a 3-percentage-point shift from early this month when Obama held a 2-percentage-point edge over the Arizona senator. It is the first time since August that Mason-Dixon had McCain in the lead.
Perhaps most significantly, the new poll shows McCain leading Obama 47-44 in the Tampa Bay area. In early October, Obama had a 4-percentage-point advantage there.

Hot Damn! Go Tampa Bay. I am voting today. We have early voting.
That's what the media keeps telling me.
I am too, so is my wife and daughter. That’s McCain +3
Actually, That’s Sarah +3, We’re only voting for McCain because we have to if we vote for Sarah.
As I understand it the conservative north part of the state offsets the liberal south, and it’s central Flordia that makes the difference. So McCain or Palin needs to make a few more visits.
Lots of Blue Dog Dems in Florida. I have an uncle, 5th generation Floridian, he was a “union man” his whole life, votes Democrat...but he won’t be voting for Obama.
I don’t think many of the Blue Dogs will. Would Lawton Chiles have voted for Obama...I don’t think so. The Blue Dogs supported Jeb...Obama is much too liberal for native Floridians, but then there are those pesky transplants from the Northeast. They bother me because last election many voted twice, absentee in NY, and also in Florida, or vice versa.
I had a friend tell me this is the first time he’s voting in years, and it’s only because of Sarah Palin, he couldn’t care less about McCain.
In Florida we have early voting - polls are open for two weeks ahead. It is great! We didn't have that opportunity when I lived in Alabama. Florida bends over backwards to make sure no one is "disenfranchised". I voted yesterday and had to wait 4o minutes (even with early voting). My husband went the day before and there was an hour wait. Imagine what it will be like on Nov. 4. I predict lots of screaming about lines being too long nationwide. If you are in Florida, GET OUT THERE NOW AND VOTE! Don't take a chance on getting into a real mess on Nov. 4.
We have an optical scan voting system in place now (hillsborough county) and a Republican as Supervisor of Elections.
Hopefully it will keep fraud to a minimum, we’ll see.
Lawton Chiles would have voted for Obama. I have no doubt. He was a dirty politician.
Well Southeast Florida is the Communist side but Southwest Florida is still American. All the suburbs in Central Florida are still holding the line. But Obama will try to scare all the old folks about Social Security. It will be REAL close. The main attack is coming from the South as more liberals spead up the coast to get away from the results of their policies. Also liberals ie “useful idiots” are invading from Northern states they have already destroyed.
Mac & Sarah will have 4 votes coming from flock TOL!
My father-in-law, and his mother, are rockribbed stalwart democrats. They have never voted GOP in their lives, but this year they are supporting McCain. Their reason? They both think that fauxbama is a black racist and a closet muslim (Granny thinks he’s a muslim, period), and not only are they openly supporting McCain, but they sent the campaign a twenty-five dollar campaign contribution.
Countless thousands of native Florida democrats are rejecting this imposters blandishments....and I don’t thing it’s being picked up by the pollsters.
Interesting photo...LOTS of empty seats.
You wont’ find those photos in the MSM, that’s from Flickr.
The Media won’t tell the real story!
McCain arrives today for a swing through Central Florida. The only stops on his public schedule are Ormond Beach and Sarasota, but it’s likely he’ll add more events while cruising through the Interstate 4 corridor.
The veteran senator will be joined by Gov. Charlie Crist, who plans to ramp up his work for McCain in the final days of the campaign.
Wow. A picture is worth a thousand words.
I voted for Sarah in St. Pete (Tampa Bay) on Tuesday.
My son in law (who is Afr. American and a democrat) is voting for McCain.
Judging from the lack of BO signs around this time, I’d say McCain will win this area. (Seen a LOT of McCain signs).
