WASHINGTON (AP) When the Republican Party decided to coordinate expenses with John McCain's presidential campaign, who knew it would be color coordinated.
The Republican National Committee spent about $150,000 on clothing, hair styling, makeup and other "campaign accessories" in September for the McCain campaign after Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin joined the ticket as his running mate.
The McCain campaign now says the clothing will go to a "charitable purpose" after the campaign.
The expenses include $75,062 spent at Neiman Marcus in Minneapolis and $41,850 in St. Louis in early September. The committee also reported spending $4,100 for makeup and hair consulting. The expenses were first reported by Politico.com.

Yep, looking around here in my bag of “give a damn” about this article...nope, fresh out...I don’t give a damn.
The left is D E S P E R A T E!
You mean Palin is just an average middle-class American who cant afford expensive clothes on her own? You mean shes not a multimillionaire like the rest of them? You mean she didnt betray the public trust in Alaska with all that oil money sloshing around to enrich herself?
Im shocked. Shocked I tell you! Forget VP, we need to put her up for Sainthood!
Worth every penny!!!
Who would have guessed.
Now that’s what I call money well spent. Joe Biden’s eye lift...not so much.
A girl has GOT to look good. All you feminazi’s can shove your comments up your “you know where”.
After the election all the clothes are to be donated to a charity.
How sexist is this??? No surprise this coming from AP/Google (remember the head of Google, Schmidt, is an Obama boy) and AP...need I say more? who’s payin’ fro the Bamister’s threads??? How can I live Google-free? I’ll do it if I have to...
I guess that’s fine. Frankly, she should keep them.
The progagandists keep looking for a “potatoe” moment-and they’re not going to find it.
In an their effort to get Hillary voters, the McCain party shouldn’t be defensive as they are now (”we’re going to give the clothes to charity”-—stuid!) RATHER, McCain Camp should ask how much investigation has been done on male wardrobes.
That’s a fraction of what ALgore paid to Naomi Wolfe to attempt to make him over into an alpha male.
Yes, ABC News online headlined it about Palin spending $ 150k of “other people’s money” on clothes for the campaign. No, idiots at ABC, that was my money and that of other people on these and other sites and that was a McCain-Palin campaign purpose for which the contribution was intended, among others. Keep your phony “concern” for the people’s money and address it tax cheats like Charles Rangel (ever hear of him, ABC?? - he writes the tax code and conveniently “forgot” about tens of thousands in offshore income).
They could auction them off and bring in 10x what they spent. Nice bundle for a charity or two.
With Biden and Obambi, they have enough “potato” moments to supply McDonald’s with fries for 10 years, yet they ignore them completely.
I wish the dems would spend a little to improve the looks of their women. We’d all save money on pain killers. (Please, don’t anyone post a picture of Helen Thomas. I’m down to my last 3 dozen Oxycodones.)
beat me to it
LOL
