As has been the case in just about every presidential election cycle in recent memory, the polls are showing the Democratic candidate pulling away in October.
In just three elections of the last ten has this trend held up.
Why this is true is hard to say.
What is true is there are no credible reports of the major voting blocks: White women, White men, Catholics or Evangelical Christians moving to support Barack Obama in numbers he will need.
Of these groups the most immovable for Obama will be White males who will be 43% of the electorate.
For a variety of reasons no Democrat has won White males since 1964. The percentage of White males backing Democrats for president fell to 36% in 2004. As things stand, Obama does not appear headed to get even that much backing.
How low can this column sink for Obama ?
A just completed poll of America’s Military might provide a clue as to what the White male numbers could be this year.
The Military Times asked 4300 of its readers whom they supported. John McCain leads 68/23.
Admittedly this survey was of a conservative universe. Yet given the White male make up of the military ( 65%) and its exact match with the population in general, the gap from 36% to 23% suggests White males might be finding Obama especially hard to support.
Our military is 62/38 male. John McCain is leading among military females with 53%.
A September AP-Yahoo poll of only White Democrats suggests Obama’s White male support is not growing. AP-Yahoo said one third of White Democrats and 40% of all White Americans hold negative opinions of Blacks. Or was it of Obama himself? Can anyone say for sure that these folks will change their mind by November 4th?

It was the exit polling, done way early, that indicates a Kerry Landslide. The MSM morons were oh so overjoyed at the prospect of a Kerry Administration that they peed all over themselves getting the "word" out that Kerry was indeed the next POTUS..............Boy, were they and the DUmmies po'd, not to mention shocked and dismayed, when the REAL election returns came in!.............
So where are these phony poll numbers coming from?
White people are now no different from blacks who elect, Marion Berry, Kwamme Kilpatrick, Ray Nagin....voting for their own demise.

Some of the demographic breakdowns given by the polling firms just simply don’t line up with the way these groups have historically voted. They have 0 running much stronger with whites and males than past patterns would indicate is possible. Keep in mind that during the dim primaries these exit polls overstated 0’s support by 7% against Clinton when compared to the actual results. And those are exit polls which should be more reliable than this pre-election polling. The polls we’re being fed right now are a fantasy.
Where are the phony poll numbers coming from? Thin air. You can do anything you want with numbers — including discourage your opponents/ psyops. The pollsters are proving themselves to be as irrelevant as the MSM. It is all Baghdad Bob stuff.
Is there and age and education breakdown of the *white males*? I can see reporting that males 18-29 support zerO.
We have a friend who is an elected democrat official in a local town. He says he’s voting for McCain.
In my area of PA, tensions are high about this election.
can you elaborate on that a bit? i am extremely interested in PA because i am from the Murtha redneck racist zone, and i think he is right about his constituents. my dad is deceased, but was a lifelong union dem and i am certain he would sit out this election.

I’m good with that. :) Meanwhile, the McCain/Palin team is moving into Iowa, back to New Mexico, and continuing its full-frontal assault on PA later this week.
