Palin accuses Obama of gender bias

HENDERSON, Nev., Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, in an appearance Tuesday in Nevada, accused Barack Obama of discriminating against women.

Palin, accompanied by a handful of former Hillary Clinton supporters, said that the Democratic presidential nominee "couldn't bring himself to pick the woman who got 18 million votes in the primaries" when he chose a vice president, The Washington Post (NYSE:WPO) reported.

"The qualifications are there, but for some reason the promotion never comes," she said. "You've got to ask yourself, why wasn't Senator Hillary Clinton even vetted by the Obama campaign?"

Lynn Rothschild, a member of the Democratic Platform Committee, Elaine Lafferty, a former editor-in-chief of Ms. Magazine, and some local leaders of the National Organization for Women joined Palin at the Henderson Pavilion. One NOW chapter in Los Angeles has endorsed Palin.

Palin also charged that women in John McCain's campaign are paid more equally than those in the Obama campaign. An Obama aide acknowledged the disparity, telling the Post that McCain has more senior staff who are women.

Your comments didn’t warrant my taking the extra time to place a link in my reply post with the often used picture of a MAN with his HEAD up his A$$.

"The qualifications are there, but for some reason the promotion never comes"

I'm glad to see the Obamessiah getting ripped but there was/is one wittle qualification Hillary lacks to be anyone's VP selection...... "TEAM PLAYER"

I have no use at all for the Obamanation, but no one, no one, no one would want to try to be POTUS with Hillary as their VP and Bill drooling after the interns. It would be all Clintonistas, all the time.

Still, it is always fun to see the Demagogues called out on their own problems with Hillary and the PUMAs.

It would be nice if she mentioned that Obama and Biden pay their female staffers less than their male staffers.

Palin also charged that women in John McCain's campaign are paid more equally than those in the Obama campaign.

How is Sarah Palin not contributing to this ticket and how is she not conservative?

Why do you call us "mindless Sarah-worshipers?"

C'mon. I'm smart. You won't hurt my feelings.

Gender-grievance identity politics is leftist in nature, not conservative.

Hmmmm. You don't say. Fair weather friends. Well, I welcome and appreciate them until they split in 2012. Maybe a few will hang with us.

Obviously she's pandering to PUMAs, that's what she is doing. She's doing it because she knows we need every vote we can get to offset the ACORN fraudsters, the big city machine politics and Obamamaniacs. Oh, here's a goodie from Votive Early, Votive Often (National Review)

That's capitalism, right there. He wants to tax that entrepreneur who is hawking those candles. Wouldn't surprise me if it threw them into the $250,000 bracket.

Wonder where they found those antlers?

I guess you’re still bitter that your boy Mitt didn’t get the nomination. Your constant bashing of Sarah is really getting tiresome!

That isn’t what she’s doing, Shrink. She’s pointing out that Obama piously claims certain values but doesn’t attempt live them at all. They are “just words.” Would you prefer that we all worship His Majesty and not point out his hypocrisy?

"Would any of you seriously be cheering a Democrat candidate who was saying these things? Obviously not.

Obviously, yes. Obama is a complete hypocrite. He should be called on it. HE CLAIMS one thing (whether I agree with it or not is beside the point) and then he DOES the opposite. That is crappy leadership, whatever your point of view may be, and at least SOMEBODY (not you, certainly) is willing to call His Majesty out on it.

Obama has his "principles," but he doesn't have the executive ability to apply them.

Did you miss the part where Gov. Palin said, infront of the audience and the media, that public campaign payroll records show 0bama pays his female staffers 83 cents to every dollar his male staffers make. McCain pays his female staffers more...and (surprise) has more female staffers in positions of responsibility. Also, Palin made no mention of rape either so why interject that into this discourse?

The Republican crowds do treat her like a superstar...and the Democratic crowds, along with the media, do treat 0bama like the Messiah. So tell me who's is getting the keys to the White House on a silver platter? There is, all of a sudden, alot of Palin foes on the board? Hmmmmmm...wonder why? Did you want somebody else for VP perchance?

Well, those dang well better be bees wax candles, and no lead in the wick either. You know lead burning in the wick pollutes the environment and is very harmful to children, minorities and women. And the glass? Is that recycled? Are the inks in the print eco-friendly?

Get a grip. Sarah is polite about Hillary as she helps peel off Hillary voters from Obama to McCain.

Salvation, ping to my post #49 and the votive candle. Maybe you might want to start a thread on it in the Catholic forum. I find it distasteful to say the least if I am interpreting it correctly.

PM, I would say negative to all your questions. I know you are being sarcastic, but think about it. What group of voters would something like this appeal to? Did you see the cross on the chest?

It actually looks like a real Catholic saint, maybe a Franciscan, one I can't place from Central or South America. But then with the red, white, and blue, I doubt there would be a real votive candle with this theme.

It may not be that big of a deal, and Obama may not be directly involved, these things tend to take on a life of their own. To me it irreligious and insulting to say the least.

I found the candle to be incredibly insulting as a Roman Catholic. To replace the familar artist rendering of the true Messiah with the pumped, false prophet of 0bama is heresy. But, I am sure there is a market for the candle amongst his synchophants.

My questioning of the environmental impact of the candles (again trying to be sarcastic) was lame I know...but with a small kernal of truth. In the Kumbaya world of the 0bamite, everything must be measured by its global impact. And, of course, as with any global impact, children, minorities and women will be hit hardes.

If it is The One, it is almost blasphemous.

But I got to wondering if they used the picture of a saint. Compare and notice the similarities of the image:

Patriotic which may or may not be intended to be The One:

St. Martin de Porres (couldn't find a votive candle for him). IIRC, St. Martin was half native and half white.
