Wup. It's time for the first "is it time to scrap the electoral college" article.
First of many, I should say.

Obviously this means they believe “The 0” is going to lose the electoral college but might win the popular vote.

a related question to the one asked in this article...Is it time to scrap the world series and decide who wins the championship based on cumulative runs scored through the entire baseball season instead?

The answer is no. Though it might be a salutory reform to force all states to go onto the Maine/Nebraska system.

Gosh, I remember, back in the day when I went to MIT, how it was a serious school.
Indeed, a lone island of conservatism (with occasional absurd faculty member the exception) in a sea of liberal idiocy.

The DemocRATs would love to scrap the Electoral College, since they would never lose another Presidential Election.
Of course, they would love to scrap the entire U.S. Constitution.

...The system is a relic of the early days of the republic when electors were supposed to be independent agents exercising their judgment in choosing a presidential candidate from a list of several contenders. INCORRECT! It's a relic of a time when states were actually their own little republics, or commonwealths. A time when the Union was a Union of free, independent states. A time when the Fed gubmint was thought to only be responsible for those collective tasks enumerated in the Constitution that required a united purpose. In short, it's from a time when the Constitution meant something.
