Hate-filled attacks on Obama have many roots (Careful when reading)
Star-Telegram (DFW) ^ | 10-21-08 | DAVID LIGHTMAN

WASHINGTON — An ugly line has been crossed in this presidential campaign, one in which some people don’t mind calling Barack Obama a dangerous Muslim, a terrorist and worse.

"To me, this all feels much worse than we’ve seen in some time," said Kathryn Kolbert, the president of People for the American Way, which monitors political speech.

Experts agree on the reasons: Obama, the Democratic nominee, is different from any other major presidential candidate in history in many ways, and people often don’t accept such change gracefully.

That different background fuels many fears, said Penni Pier, an expert on political rhetoric. People are still scared that terrorists are ready to strike and wonder about Obama’s background, she said, while the Internet and other outlets are endless sources of misinformation.

Some think that GOP strategists are, as Kolbert put it, "orchestrating" the vitriol.

Of course this is all put out there by left wingers, with nothing about the attacks on Palin, on the McCain bus, on rally attendees, on Joe the Plumber, on Stanley Kurtz, et al ad nauseum.

Lines have been crossed with 0bama?? What a laugh. On the rare occasions any Republican says anything remotely offensive they get slapped down. I have yet to hear 0bama or Biden condemn any of the vicious attacks on McCain, Palin, Joe Plumber, or others. In fact they are often the ones doing it!

They ask for commentary from People from the American Way?? They are certainly a fair, bipartisan organization! HA HA.

Obama is a Muslim-terror sympathizer.... and that should be the term that is used... not simply a Muslim

EXACTLY! I think this may hold true for the lamestream media some Hollyweirds and, oh, and some rednecks.

I think this is an Associated Press hit piece. I would direct correspondence to them taking them to task in the strongest terms for incendiary biased hit pieces such as this.

You make a great point...and to illustrate an even finer point to yours;

How much do we now know about Governor Palin and Joe the Plumber as compared to obama...I’m really, c’mon, lets real honest here.

We still do not know anything about obama and that is why in the absence of a narrative...he is a clean slate therefore...almost anything can be written about him.

What do American’s want to know?

“How much do you love this country”?

What are you willing to personally sacrifice to defend American honor and freedom.”?

“Why is socialism better than what we have”?

“Why were you willing to stand on principle — and not fund our troops?”

“What about Ayers”?

“What about Rev. Wright”?

“What do you really believe”?

And what can you make me believe — John McCain has been in the public arena for 50 years defending America!!!

Obama, where have you been?

If you leave the chalk blank — people are going to write whatever they want to on it...

My local ‘conservative’ newspaper has recently started running McClatchy news ‘articles’ as well as Leonard Pitts Jr., another angry liberal whiner. I read the above article in the paper this a.m and couldn’t help but laugh at hte pathetic attempt to shame people into voting for Obama because apparently, if you’re a McCain voter, you are a hateful person, but I noted that the McClatchy article mentioned absolutely nothign abotu hte viscious smears run by such ‘newspapers’ as NYT, Los Angelas Times etc. Apparently, those who don’t vote for Obama are racist hatemongereurs who can’t stand the htought of an African American in office.

I also noted that apparently white folk are too stupid to understand that there is nothign wrong with being Muslim, and that ‘even a muslim should be able to run for office’ in this country- not that Barack is Muslim according to the article of course.

Nope, nothign wrong with Muslims McClatchy- but htere is everythign in the world wrong with RADICAL MUSLIMS who have connections with RADICAL MUSLIMS the world over, and who are apparently ashamed of their own country and attend a ‘christian church’ who spews warped radical ANTI-AMERICAN vitriol and hatred tiem after time! That sirs is why we aren’t voting for Barack Obama. We like Muslims McClatchy- what we don’t like are radical ANTI-AMERICANS, and certqinly don’t htink that they should be our commander in chiefs-

Apparently the writers at McClatchy ‘newspaper’ are too thick to ‘get it’!

Well maybe, but I will say this. he is a socialist and they can’t deny that one way or another. just look at his proposed policies and tell me where they are not socialist in origin.

Consider the source. Dude has never been beyond the Beltway, except to go to Balmur. Apparently a victim of the Hartford Courant’s downsizing:
David Lightman
E-mail David at dlightman@mcclatchydc.com
David Lightman was the Hartford Courant’s Washington Bureau Chief for 23 years before joining the McClatchy Washington Bureau in October. He has covered every presidential campaign since 1980, and earlier this year won the David Lynch award for outstanding regional reporting in Washington.

From 1971 to 1981 he worked for the Baltimore Evening Sun, where he covered the Maryland legislature, and, from 1978 to 1981, was the paper’s chief Annapolis correspondent. He joined the Courant in 1981 as a reporter.

A Washington, D.C. native, he has also worked for the Hagerstown (Md.) Morning Herald and the Riverside (Calif.) Press-Enterprise.

“What about Ayers”?

“What about Rev. Wright”?

What about Bernadine Dohrn?

What about Rashid Khalid?

What about Greg Halman?

What about Michael Kronsky?

What about Frank Marshall Davis?

What about Raila Odinga?

What about Edward Said?

What about Father Pfleger?

What about Louis Farrakhan?

I could go on...

Ayers isn't the only radical, "small c communist" Obama has associated with. Indeed his personal history -- from childhood -- is larded with radical associates. In fact, his mother probably qualifies, as well.

Indeed, the only "capitalist" that Obama has ever associated with appears to be Tony Rezko...

Oh, please! One of the worst, most vile organizations in the country is going to lecture anyone on 'hate speech'?! I don't think so!

I think this is an Associated Press hit piece.

The byline indicated that it was written by David Lightman of McClatchy Newspapers.

McClatchy appears to be hiring on all the burned-out old libs from other newspapers that are downsizing. See my earlier post. Their copy must come really cheap.
