Obama's numbers in OH stink, and PA isn't much better. He's hurting in FL. McCain's putting on the pressure in NH, WI, MN, IA, CO, VA and rumor has it even MI again. And McCain/Palin are just now employing their ad blitz. Life is good, and barring a major October/November surprise the lightweight Marxist has been defeated.
But we still have plenty of work to do. There are a bunch of vulnerable freshmen Dem representatives in the House. The GOP has about 20 realistic pick-up opportunities. See my list below:
AL-05
AZ-05
CA-11
GA-08
IL-14
KS-02
KY-03
LA-06
MS-01
NH-01
NH-02
NY-20
PA-07
PA-08
PA-10
PA-11
TX-22
TX-23
WI-08
And my personal favorite! PA-12 (tough, but doable thanks to Murtha the Marine smearing racist)
Details on these races (website links, voting percentages, fundraising numbers, etc.) are here spread throughout this thread.
The current count is Dems 233, GOP 202. The Pubbies unfortunately do have to defend a lot of seats due to retirement. To retake the House they'd need to basically run the table on defending those seats and win about 16 of those above pick-up opportunities. Possible, but not likely. However, a solid McCain/Palin win in this anti-incumbent environment could provide enough of a push. And just cutting into the Dems' current 31-seat lead, after months of them gloating, will be very demoralizing.
If you've been thinking about donating your time and/or money, now's the time.
How can we get someone to run the Saddleback interviews again the day after his 30 minute ad buy?
This is a straight ticket year folks. No time to punish yourself by punishing the GOP. Every vote for Democrats is a vote for Keith Obermann.
I really, really hope and wish you were right. But come on. We can still win, but the MSM and Hussein’s million$ are going to pull out all the stops over the next two weeks. It’s very hard to be optimistic.
That said, I think we can take Pa., which would be a major coup.
MI Senator Levin will hop, skip and jump to victory over his GOP challenger, like he always does. He could reveal himself to be the Prince of Darkness and still get reelected.
Scarier still, Congressman Tim Walberg (MI 7th) is facing a tough reelection against dem challenger Schauer, which is absolutely inexplicable to all of us who live in mid-mitten. I've seen a few recent polls that actually put Schauer ahead of Walberg.
Not good. Don't count on any rays of sunshine coming out of Michigan.
Too bad positive attitudes don’t win elections?
And if it’s not close at all, but a landslide, what will happen to all the concern about riots?
I think the ‘riots’ are more the sugar-coated dreams of MSM reporters who fantasize about being ‘on-scene’ during a riot.
Every MSM reporter is looking for their Woodward/Bernstein fifteen minutes.
I live in MD 01 and it does seem to be a toss-up. I think Harris assumed the seat was his and didn’t really do the work he had to do to ensure victory. Kratovil and his lover Gilcrest are all over the airwaves and sending out reams of junk mail, and you don’t tend to hear much from Harris.
No more AmeriCAN’T and RepubliCAN’T.
AmeriCAN and RepubliCAN in November!
Allen West has a real battle for Clay Shaw’s old seat. He’s underfunded (although he did receive some recent help via fundraisers from Fred Thompson and Michael Steele). West is running against Ron Klein, and this district went 48% for Bush in 2004.
Add one. There's a distinct possibility that Monty Lankford (R) will defeat Lincoln Davis (D) in the 4th Congressional District in Tennessee. Davis is publicly refusing to debate Lankford. That won't sit well here.....
I’m seeing good Harris commercials on TV, the best just yesterday... “The problem is solved? Frank Kratovil: Clueless, wrong, very liberal” GREAT!
This is pretty scary, if you look at it. Early voting in several states has Dims showing up for early voting in far greater numbers than Republicans. GET OUT AND VOTE!
DO NOT LET UP. NOT EVEN FOR A SECOND.
TOTAL head-fake. Nicely done. Hope to God you’re right.
In fact, hope to God you’re erring on the conservative side!
Haven’t seen that one. In fact, the only one I have seen is one with Harris in his doctor’s garb. Seemed to be a bit of a disconnect.
Keep the momentum going and ignore completely the MSM. They are a dying breed and I give them NO face time these days. I stay right here for my news and get it from fellow conservatives. The undercurrent is building towards a wave...and beyond.
These surveys found that early voters were more Republican in all states except Iowa.
If either candidate wins both PA and VA, this will be an early night. At this point it’s looking like McCain has a better chance of picking up PA than keeping VA.
Still no McCain ads in the DC/No. VA market. I think he’s written off the state.
