Obama's numbers in OH stink, and PA isn't much better. He's hurting in FL. McCain's putting on the pressure in NH, WI, MN, IA, CO, VA and rumor has it even MI again. And McCain/Palin are just now employing their ad blitz. Life is good, and barring a major October/November surprise the lightweight Marxist has been defeated.
But we still have plenty of work to do. There are a bunch of vulnerable freshmen Dem representatives in the House. The GOP has about 20 realistic pick-up opportunities. See my list below:
AL-05
AZ-05
CA-11
GA-08
IL-14
KS-02
KY-03
LA-06
MS-01
NH-01
NH-02
NY-20
PA-07
PA-08
PA-10
PA-11
TX-22
TX-23
WI-08
And my personal favorite! PA-12 (tough, but doable thanks to Murtha the Marine smearing racist)
Details on these races (website links, voting percentages, fundraising numbers, etc.) are here spread throughout this thread.
The current count is Dems 233, GOP 202. The Pubbies unfortunately do have to defend a lot of seats due to retirement. To retake the House they'd need to basically run the table on defending those seats and win about 16 of those above pick-up opportunities. Possible, but not likely. However, a solid McCain/Palin win in this anti-incumbent environment could provide enough of a push. And just cutting into the Dems' current 31-seat lead, after months of them gloating, will be very demoralizing.
If you've been thinking about donating your time and/or money, now's the time.

I am disappointed it took someone so long to post that on my thread! :-D I was thinking of it and even went so far to look for a Conan picture, but never followed through. So thanks!

It isn’t over until McCain is sitting in Reagan’s chair!
To: CodeToad
We’re definitely in agreement. I just want folks to focus on the other important races in addition to McCain/Palin. :)

Colorado has some extremely important amendments to vote on including 3 ballot measures wiping unions out of the State forever and 1 killing both gay rights and Affirmative Action all in one fell swoop!
To: CodeToad
Sounds like three more good reasons to vote on or before Nov. 4th!

"
It's regular America vs. the media. And I want them absolutely crushed and humiliated the night of Nov. 4th." Prayer is the only way to do that.

Prayer is very good. But that doesn’t do much if you don’t vote!! :-)

I've had the opportunity to drive along the Maine coastline multiple times the last 10 days, and over these trips more and more McCain/Palin signs are sprouting all over Sagadahoc, Lincoln, and even Cumberland county each day. Momentum is in our favor! Will have a look at York county tomorrow.

We were chatting about Maine earlier today. New Hampshire is about 96% white, making it very tough for Obama to win there. Someone from NH said Maine had similar demographics. Obviously the McCain/Palin campaign see some promise up there.

Thought you might want to see some of the other House seats the GOP may be able to pick off. I inadvertently left FL-16 (Foley/Mahoney’s seat) off the list.

No, it’s there.
It’s numero uno. Mahoney is toast.
There are 2 in AZ, possibly McCain will help.

Whoops sorry I was looking at the wrong list.
No AZ-08? I thought the State Senate President would be a strong candidate.

Google news headlines this morning that Sarah Palin is “dragging down the GOP ticket.” They are desperate!! Haha.
I was thinking this morning about Obama’s campaign slogan, HOPE. Yes, I hope he keeps on campaigning in red states, showing his and the DNC’s arrogance. Biden’s mouth works for us too.
Everything works for us! Only the brain-dead will vote Democrat.

Google news headlines this morning that Sarah Palin is dragging down the GOP ticket. Yeah. :-) When McCain/Palin pull about 53% of the national vote, perhaps our fine friends in the press will console themselves that McCain could have had 57% if Palin weren't around. LOL

I'm still trying to figure out what so many around here are so worried about. Looking at the data, McCain/Palin are in solid shape. The only thing that tells me otherwise is the media (which includes public polls). Now, the press would never mislead us, would they?
