John McCain took note Monday of Joe Biden’s remarks the day before at a Seattle fundraiser (where Biden apparently didn’t realize at first there were media present). But there’s more McCain could say.
Here’s McCain, in Belton, Missouri:
Just last night, Senator Biden guaranteed that if Senator Obama is elected, we will have an international crisis to test America’s new President. We don’t want a President who invites testing from the world at a time when our economy is in crisis and Americans are already fighting in two wars.
What is more troubling is that Senator Biden told their campaign donors that when that crisis hits, they would have to stand with them because it wouldn't be apparent Senator Obama would have the right response.
Forget apparent. Senator Obama won’t have the right response, and we know that because we’ve seen the wrong response from him over and over during this campaign. He opposed the surge strategy that is bringing us victory in Iraq and will bring us victory in Afghanistan. He said he would sit down unconditionally with the world's worst dictators. When Russia invaded Georgia, Sen. Obama said the invaded country should show restraint.

I’ll give you a reason. Iran may not have nukes yet, but they do have chemical and biological weapons. If Israel attacks Iran, they will probably respond by sending missiles to Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. If they are chemical or biological, how will Israel respond? Nukes!! A major sh_t storm will be set off with massive casualties on both sides. The Arab states would probably shut off the oil spigots and a nightmare of epic proportions would in-sue.

My point is that the Dems do in fact see the nation as two nations, them (the rulers) and us (the subjects). They are anti-military when they do not control the military, and pro-military when they control it.

For years I have hit liberals with the argument that they (liberals, gays, women, etc) will be the first ones put up against the wall and shot by the terrorists they coddle and believe we should "sit down and talk to".

What I do know for certain is that there will be no foreign policy crisis during an Obama administration. Think Clinton redux, less Bosnia. Oh, we'll hit something with cruise missles when Barry needs to distract the sheeple from bad news, but we will assume, militarily, the most isolationist foreign policy since the Harding administration.
Barry will owe a great deal to the Left, and the payments will be made at the expense of protecting the United States. Don't worry, though - Barry's election will mean that the world loves us, so we'll be able to spend our money on abortions, free health care, and tax refunds to non-taxpayers. Tune out, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain, and stop worrying about those scary world citizens.

So--leaving aside the merits of what Kennedy did or didn’t do in 1961--Biden is forecasting that Obama will have what seems to be a weak response to a provocation from, say, Iran or Russia, and he’s urging the liberals of Seattle and elsewhere to stand with Obama against the expected domestic criticism.
Kristol writes a very troubling possibility regarding Obama & Biden. Biden is predicting that Obama will appear to blow something, and that Biden wants the crowd to support Obama at that time no matter what. Are they pre-planning a crisis...a set-up...a betrayal??? Others will be so angry that they must prepare their minions for that time?
Are they pre-planning Iran joining the nuclear club and Israel being told to eat dirt?

All of Powell's "arguments" were weak, transparent and lame. The racially bigoted old fart soiled himself in public for all to see. Pathetic.
But maybe he earned a role as an advisor to Obama for when it comes time to sell out Israel in early 2009.
Who knows what he meant? Has anyone from the media asked him to give a scenario consistent with his statement? I didn’t think so. Too busy hounding Sarah Palin about what “pro-American” means.
I don't totally get it either but I know this: Biden's rather extended remarks were not a mere slip of the tongue. He was preparing people for something he fully expects to happen. Buy gold now while it's down.
