Kristol: What Biden Implied
The Weekly Standard ^ | 10/20/08 | Bill Kristol

Posted on 10/21/2008 4:01:02 AM PDT by DocT111

John McCain took note Monday of Joe Biden’s remarks the day before at a Seattle fundraiser (where Biden apparently didn’t realize at first there were media present). But there’s more McCain could say.

Here’s McCain, in Belton, Missouri:

Just last night, Senator Biden guaranteed that if Senator Obama is elected, we will have an international crisis to test America’s new President. We don’t want a President who invites testing from the world at a time when our economy is in crisis and Americans are already fighting in two wars.

What is more troubling is that Senator Biden told their campaign donors that when that crisis hits, they would have to stand with them because it wouldn't be apparent Senator Obama would have the right response.

Forget apparent. Senator Obama won’t have the right response, and we know that because we’ve seen the wrong response from him over and over during this campaign. He opposed the surge strategy that is bringing us victory in Iraq and will bring us victory in Afghanistan. He said he would sit down unconditionally with the world's worst dictators. When Russia invaded Georgia, Sen. Obama said the invaded country should show restraint.

I’m not really trying to change your opinion so much as offer another possibility.

Obama will do anything for political gain.
He will even throw his peacenick supporters under the bus if that’s what it takes.

If he allows the thugs of the world to kick him around he has to know there won’t be a 2nd term.

And one other thing. The part about getting attacked or seeing a major conflict is unsettling enough BUT the fact that he says the majority of this country, INCLLUDING the Obamabots will not understand the response is down right SCARY! What is he setting us up for? Seems to me they are covering their ass knowing that they have a totally different strategy than what they have been telling the masses.

I took Biden’s comments to mean yesterday that Hussein would use our military to show the world that he has ‘steel in his spine.’

Hussein won the vote of the far-left Democreeps with his constant denial of military support.

Biden is preparing the base to turn hypocrite and suddenly support the Dems when they want to use the military for political purposes, as opposed to true national defense, as Pres. Bush has employed the military.

Like Ron Silver said in regard to the air force flyover at Clinton's inauguration (after he condemned the flyover), “Oh, wait, those are OUR planes now.”

What has bothered me lately is how quiet the thugs have been ... they are helping Obama get elected by not creating any waves to move the topic du jour back to national security until after he’s elected (God forbid).

Thank God for Biden’s gaffe.

Oh yeah, right. Well, with all the commotion it’s easy to forget. LOL

What’s the option? Hope Iran doesn’t use it I guess. Which IS an option, just not one I like. I think the conflict is inevitable so may as well do it before Iran definitely has nukes. I realize I’m being a hothead but I’ll be even madder if Israel does it after Obama gets in.

Like Ron Silver said in regard to the air force flyover at Clinton's inauguration (after he condemned the flyover), “Oh, wait, those are OUR planes now.”

Didn't Silver turn into a conservative? Well, "independent". from Wikipedia:

Silver, who was a Democrat for many years, has recently been an outspoken supporter for President George W. Bush, citing the September 11, 2001 attacks and the Democrats' policies regarding terrorism as his reasons for becoming an independent.

I think O is a bully and like most bullies, when confronted, they wilt.

Let’s pray we never have to find out what he would do in the face of a conflict. Past history shows us he would refuse to do the right thing.

You are exactly right: we will be attacked and Obama will show his “moral leadership” by refusing to respond, as in, “We have to show the world that we understand that violence only begets greater violence.”

I’m fairly certain of this, and I’ll tell you why: Several months ago, while channel surfing, I came across Gary Hart on the John Daley Show. I never, ever watch the Daley show because I find him personally repugnant and intellectually inferior. But in this case, I paused to take a look because I have always been fascinated by Daley’s guest, John Hart (one of the world’s most egregious losers).

Daley and Hart were espousing what I believe will one day be known as “The Obama Doctrine.” To wit: A country shows its true strength by refusing to respond to violent attacks. Specifically, they were saying that the US should not have attacked Al Queda after 9-11 because all that did was lead to greater violence instead of showing the world that we knew how to wage peace through restraint.

They used Israel’s loss to Hezbollah as an example. As Hart said something to the effect of, “They were hit by 3,000 missiles, and they showed the world that as a democracy, they could take the hit and still stand.” And, that is not far from his exact words. Oh, Hart and Daley agreed, to a certain extent they over-reacted. But, for the most part they stood down and “took the hit.”

And they both agreed that if attacked again, America should show its true strength and commitment to world peace by “taking the hit.”

There you have it folks, from the mouths of two idiot Obamunists: The Obama Doctrine — Take the hit.

And that is sick.

If we are attacked here, it will be in a major city. Major cities are filled with millions of Obama voters, who will take the biggest hit and loss of life.

Ironically, the majority of Obama voters are more likely to be victims of terrorism if Obama is elected than if McCain is elected.

But for many of them, it’s more important to vote for their race than for their safety.

The downturn has got the dictators on the march in need of a distraction for their populations. So starting a war, stealing a few countries to boost national pride, wiping out Israel, is the usual course of action for dictators when their people are worried about when their food gets handed out.

Russia, China, Iran, Venezuela, they all fit that template and are affected by the market downturn. They all have countries they want to consume, or action they want to take. The Arab countries, with all their newly acquired debt ran up because oil was so high, now have big time problems paying, so you have to pump, pump, and pump some more oil, regardless the price. For them, it would be nice if Iran kicked Israel around some more, so their people don't get wind of where the oil money is really going.

The Naive One is an obliging sort, and they smell that.

" My thinking is that BO and/or biden were both briefed on one or more imminent attacks, mainly against Israel, and BO intends NOT to defend Israel. That is what I think biden means when we won’t like their response. "
BINGO !!
Connect the dots... remember Obama's statement, that if the political situation were to change, then, he would have to side with the Muslims.... and Biden is scared as hell knowing what is about to happen in 6 months...

Israel is looking at being friendless in a world that would turn its head away from its destruction.

Time to get some licks in now.
