I am getting a little annoyed with all these Freepers who keep posting about:
1) The Supposed RNC 150 + millions and Rove's 527 money. Where is it?
2) All the October scandals that will hit Obama. Where are they?
Seriously, and don't write "til the white of their eyes" please, it's two weeks til the election and many, many people are voting early in person or via absentee ballot.
I personally don't think:
1) There is any RNC money
2) Any grand McCain plan
3) Any Obama scandals out there waiting to drop
This doesn't mean McCain is going to lose, but I don't think we should depend on the three above- they aren't going to happen.
Mainly we need the “economy” to behave for two weeks.
1) There is any RNC money
2) Any grand McCain plan
3) Any Obama scandals out there waiting to drop
You are an astute and overly-honest poster. I agree with your three points.
ESPECIALLY #2...
They’re not needed. It’s in the bag. McCain is a campaigning genius.
We are getting the RNC negative ads in Indiana, and they suck. McCain needs to stay on message and the RNC needs to back that message. These negative ads are turning people off, and they look desperate.
Every time a vanity is posted at FR ACORN turns in 500 voter registrations.
I heard a GREAT ad on the radio today slamming congressional Democrats. I was hoping it was the start of some great GOP / 527 national ad campaign. Alas, it was just a local ad for congressman John Shadegg.
McCain has no real philosophy and no real strategy to boot.
There are no "big" scandals about to break. That stuff is for whack-jobs who like to live life not having to deal with reality....
You are right about the no strategy thing.
McCain has absolutely no strategy at all, he is all about tactics-
Let’s look at his failure to maintain a constant storyline.
He is essentially fighting a campaign against both Obama and the Media- indeed this is something that all losing Republican candidates realize (although too late) and begin to attack. Bush I (remember “annoy the media), Bob Dole in the last 72 hour wirl wind tour of the country etc...and now McCain.
But this is fairly ridiculous- if you want to run against the media (which GOP candidates need to do) then you need to do it from the beginning and not just when you are behind in the polls.
This translates into Sarah Palin making her first media appearances on Rush, Hannity, etc and then the Drive Bys- not the other way around.
Alas, Rush is right- we are going to have to throw McCain over the line, but what a sad sap candidate we have.
McCain is a fool. If there is anything amusing about this campaign is that the come uppance McCain is getting:
1) The media he courted for years to attack his fellow Republicans are the most hyper biased of any modern election, against him!
2) He was the most disloyal Republican for years, constantly attacking candidates etc as being agents of intolerance etc. And now his campaign is being called the most intolerant in history (ha ha)
3) He, the author of McCain Feingold, is beling overwhelmed by Obama’s opting out of public financing, thus dooming it.
Har har har
Wow, that really scares me. Oh-- and they "served on two boards together."
This was a bulk mailing to "resident." The first mailing I've gotten from anyone except repeated fundraising letters from McCain Committee. Must have cost a small fortune.
We're screwed.
Senator Obama you have admitted using cocaine, how often did you use it and did you sell it? Did you become addicted to it and did you seek treatment for cocaine abuse? Are you using it now?
I don't believe in those miracles either. I was going to keep the real answer a secret for a couple more days, but here's The Plan:
(1) Freepers and other conservatives stay in the game, get out there, and tell other voters why they should vote for McCain/Palin.
(2) We go to McCain's web site and actually volunteer - do something! We're conservatives; we're used to getting things done instead of complaining that no one is doing them for us.
(3) We get out there on election day and get conservative voters to the polls to make sure that the turnout of patriotic voters is as high as possible, high enough that our living voters outnumber the Party of Death's living and dead voters combined.
I know, it's not as glamorous or as convenient as a secret sneaky surprise that wins the election for America without any effort, but it's almost as good. It's something that works, and conservatives used to believe in realism.
Any of what you listed would be good, but not necessary for my vote. Faux-bama has done everything he possibly could to assure that I will vote McCain/Palin. In fact, I just sent them some money and will probably vote early this week. I’ve seen more than enought to know that Faux-bama/Biden is an American nightmare I don’t want to experience.
I couldn't agree more - McCain deserves all he is getting in this election cycle (the only problem is this Country doesn't deserve Obama in the end). But McCain doesn't deserve to be POTUS/CinC either......Ugly time for our great Nation.
How does that part of CFR work? Did it say Democrats could raise all the money they want, but Republicans can't?
Or, could McCain's problem be caused by McCain--being a less than exciting candidate and his choice to go the public financing route?
watsonfellow,You seem like a nice fellow but I am tired of Vanity’s unless you donate and say that you did to this forum. That being said you only listed 2 and you are boring.
Karma is such miserable b****, isn't she?
I expect them to come out with something while Obama takes 2 days off to go to HI Thursday morning. Could be an interesting weekend.
