IIRC, firarm homicides were about 14,000 last year. So total firearm homicides were about 50,000 since the end of the ban. You would need at least 500 dead from so called "assault weapons" to make one percent. This figure of 163 killed is about one third of one percent. Is this supposed to be significant?

In the four years since the federal assault weapons ban expired on September 15, 2004, at least 163 people have been killed and 185 wounded with military-style semiautomatic assault weapons, including at least 38 police officers killed or wounded, according to a report being issued today by the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence.

How many suffered a similar fate in the 4 years preceding the lifting of the (constitutionally-abhorent) AWB? How many in the 4 years preceding its implementation in '94?

What a crock! The so-called “BAN” written by Chucky Cheese was a literal farce in that NOT A SINGLE FIREARM listed was prevented from being legally sold. Remember, at the time of the passage of this worthless piece of political propaganda, there was more than a ten-year supply of the weapons stock-piled, all of which were ALLOWED to be sold per the legislation. This sham didn’t BAN anything and it simply ended on its “expiration date” with nary a whimper.

The liars at the Brady Bunch leave the reader to assume that the number killed with so-called “military-style semiautomatic assault weapons” was zero during the ban. This was certainly not the case.
I suspect that, statistically, there is no difference in the percent of victims harmed by criminals using “military-style semiautomatic assault weapons” during the ban, before it, and after it. Of course, the Brady bunch would never break it down that way - unless the statistics helped their evil cause.
Also, doesn't the Brady Bunch count shootings in self defense as homicides?

I am so tired of the misstatement of facts & etc. Yeah, it’s easier to get an AK-47 now, right. Do they have any idea of what one is? Or the fact that a real full-auto AK is, was and will be illegal (aside from a select few which cost $$$$+)?

What they will NEVER tell you is that young black men are 11 times more likely to commit murder than whites. And their victims are 10 time more likely to be other blacks than whites. So there are about 1/6 as many young black males as young white males yet they are 11 times more dangerous?

The Baltimore sun published an interactive map that shows this disturbing trend that it is NOT a gun availability problem, but a demographic problem.

After a very brief look at this - Their footnotes in this So-called report reference newspaper reports rather than actual statistics.
