Did 'Family Guy' Go Too Far With Nazi 'McCain' Pin?
Fox ^ | 10/20/2008 | Fox

The animated sitcom 'Family Guy' is no stranger to controversy, but on Sunday night the show went into uncharted territory as it seemed to weigh in on the presidential race by likening the McCain/Palin ticket to the Nazi party in World War II.

In the episode, two of the characters, Stewie (a talking baby) and Brian (a talking dog) are transported to Poland during the Nazi invasion of World War II. In one scene, the characters beat up and steal the uniforms of two Nazi officers. Stewie looks down at his Nazi uniform and notices a McCain/Palin campaign button attached to its lapel, remarking “Huh, that’s weird."

The show’s creator, Seth MacFarlane, is an ardent supporter of Barack Obama. MacFarlane has given thousands to the Democratic presidential nominee and the Democratic Party, and even spoke at an Obama rally in Ohio earlier this month.

The Left always accuses the Right of what they themselves are doing. It is time to be really afraid!

Saying “Barack Hussein Obama” = hateful, racist too far, and reasons why we need “hate speech” laws.

Portraying McCain/Palin as racists, Nazis, Child Molesters, etc = the truth

Any questions?

I usually like irreverent humor but I’ve never found the Family Guy to be all that funny.

Godwin’s law applies to pop culture cartoons as well.
Definitely a losers tactic.

McCain was one of the liberals favorite republican for YEARS, now he's a nazi?
Yea ok.
And Seth what's his face should stfu with his heavy handed political shit, because it's not funny. Why?
Because it's not close to being the truth.
South Park hits the nail on the head almost every time, because there is truth in their satire, but McCain a nazi?
Oh yea...that's really hysterical.

Family Guy stopped being funny about two years ago. Worse then going too far, he’s not funny.

Same show that had a the “Jesus is a slacker loser” episode.

So “edgy.”

The irony is the National Socialist are much more closely politically aligned with Barack “kill the Jews” Hussein Obama.

Well, it certainly is not funny. I have tried to watch that show, and fail to find it funny. And I'm not an uptight guy. I have all the available DVDs of Bullwinkle and George of the Jungle, so I can enjoy a dumb cartoon.

It might have been funny to see a Nazi rally during the Family Guy cartoon showing Der Fuhrer and his adoring crowds with a "Change We Can Believe In" sign. I do not see why a gun-grabbing regime like the 3rd Reich would sport a button with gun-toting Sarah Palin's picture on it. Typical leftist humor. Nothing more than badly aimed ad hominem attacks. They are so ill-informed they cannot even make a joke that strikes home.

The Hitler comparisons hurt McFarlane more than they do McCain.

I’ll take it as free advertising.

I’ve mostly given up watching Family Guy. Did not see this episode. MacFarlane is extremely liberal and he makes his views very well known in his show. In the beginning it wasn’t so bad but now in the show’s second run, it’s completely obvious; there have been entire episodes which have made fun of conservatives, Christians, etc. Same thing with The Simpsons: it used to be fairer and make fun of both sides, but now is a pretty left-wing show which I have also stopped watching.

Family Guy lost it in season 3.. after that season I started wishing I hadn’t wanted it back on the air after being canceled. I haven’t been able to watch them or the new Simpsons for years. At least I still have South Park!

You get use to it in the far-left media. It’s highly irritating but the worse part of it is, most gen Y’ers are growing up with assumptions based on liberal stupidity. In the echo chambers of youtube, mtv, and shows like family guy, they come to believe this crap.

Its no wonder, the under 30 vote is always described as uninformed, even when compared to the general ignorance of the general election.

What in heaven’s name reminds this guy of NAZIs, when he thinks of McCain/Palin? While I disagree with McCain considerably, he is nowhere near something even remotely related to a NAZI. And Palin? Dang, this guy is off in uncharted insanity.

The really sad thing here is this. If Hitler was nothing more than McCain or Palin, he wasn’t a bad guy at all. Is that really what this nut-job wants to telegraph to the public?

Evidently so.

Rounding up Jews, Gypsies, Homosexuals, the elderly, the infirmed... is this what this guy thinks McCain/Palin have in mind? Does he see ovens in the future of U.S. Citizens? Does he foresee a crystal night in our future?

What an evil rat bastard this prick is. There is scum, and then there is this guy, beneath the level of scum.

I remember seeing McFarlane on a cable news show (maybe Olberdouche) calling Bush “retarded”. I thought that was ballsy, considering Family Guy has a pedophile as recurring character. How retarded is that?

Family Guy ceased being funny when McFarlane when they started with the second go-around on Fox. The first three seasons were great. The newer stuff has sucked, big-time.

I even tried to stomach the Star-Wars spoof, but the old child molester as Obi-Wan was just over the line.

Never liked that character, had no place in the show, completely creepy.

No, Family Guy didn't go too far. It's their show, they have the right to say it.

However, if someone had made a similar joke about Obama being Muslim, the MSM would be screaming their collective heads off.
