While I completely sympathize with the dilemma, the reasoning there is completely circular.
"I can't vote for him, because he cant win, because no one is gonna vote for him, because he can't win."
At some point we have to stop rewarding mediocrity. All the left has to do for us to capitulate and vote for a moderate/liberal Republican is to keep nominating a marxist. We will be so scared of the marxist that we will keep strategizing and playing by their rules. And voila, they get what they want.
No what it does is buy time. Getting a real Marxist elected is simply getting your nose cut to spite your face. The problem is that a lot of people think politics is over the day after election day and return to their sorry life and leave the field to the “activists” the result is you get professional politicians interested in themselves rather than serving their community.

Great post. A very big reason I come to Free Republic is articles like this, whether for education, or, in this case more of a refreshment and better explanation than I could give on my own.
I read this part to my wife (who is Filipina) “It is hard for Americans to understand what life is like in countries where even “elected” governments exercise arbitrary power and rule by fiat when the laws they are supposed to obey are inconvenient for them. Where participating in politics means to literally put one’s life on the line. Where entrenched elites and oligarchies do whatever suits them to retain their power. Where corruption is a way of life and the majority of the people feel helpless to do anything. Where demagogues are the rule, not the exception.” I asked her if it sounded familiar. She sadly nodded “yes”.
It bothers me tremendously when I hear someone like Colin Powell put down a Sarah Palin essentially because they do not see her as a member of their elite: the ruling class. That is as clear a sign as any that what you describe is already happening.
Thank you, I had wanted more people to read it than have done so far. I don’t think there are people out there who understand how critical these elections are.
We've been buying and wasting time for far too long. It's stupid to keep doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Eventually the libs will get what they want, because it's human nature to slide downhill.
I'm far more worried about displeasing the Lord with my vote (e.g. in effect trying to make a deal with the devil and strategizing with him) than I am of Barack Obama. the Lord can take care of the libs, in whatever way he sees fit, if we hold to truth regardless of the cost. (because in essence truth is its own reward, but may not pay off here in this world full of sin). But if I side with them, I'll be part of the problem, not part of the solution.
Thank you for this. Your immigration information is correct. This is why Bill Ayers and his ilk have worked on a project aim at getting millions of illegals citizenship. They are out to destroy us from ‘within’.

It is not.
I don't know how to get across that barrier. If you speak the truth, the numbies start putting you in the tinfoil category. We need to get across that line somehow, to make them hear us.
I offer my simple post to add in voice of support and thanks to your excellent biography of transcendence and witness.
THANK YOU CACIQUE!!!
Well said. bttt
Thank you.
Turnout will be the key in this election. We must at whatever cost turn out as many people as possible to vote for McCain and a republican congress.Amen!
bump! bump! bump!
