It doesn’t surprise me at all the people with graduate degrees would calmy talk about killing 25 million. University professors were some of the most committed supporters of the Nazi regime, and in the 20s and 30s college professors here and abroad had what amounted to school-girl crushes over Lenin and Stalin, which continued even after news of mountains of corpses produced by Soviet regime were revealed.

That is very true. Frankly, I think that a lot of our current crop of academics supporting Obama actually suspects and even hopes that he will do something like their idols, Lenin and Stalin. I think they are very much attracted to power, partly because they feel that they are regarded as weak and effete themselves, and they attach themselves to some powerful, violent figure to compensate for this. The academy has always romanticized and adored brute force, particularly in the suppression of its "intellectual enemies."
