Fox News Would Like To Talk To You About Your New York Times Subscription
TV Newser ^

Posted on 10/19/2008 2:58:35 PM PDT by WilliamReading

Fox News has been covering the McCain campaign's "outrage" over a Cindy McCain profile in the New York Times this weekend. But besides just reporting the story throughout the day, FNC has made it easy for those equally outraged — with a cancellation phone number and complaint email address in their lower thirds of the TV screen.

This is pretty cool. Now Fox News is putting the phone number to call so that you can easily cancel your subscription to the New York Times.

I would guess that the majority of full-priced subscriptions are being paid by the federal taxpayers. All those NY Times subscriptions are being delivered to the various federal agencies, State Department, HUD, Pentagon, etc.

Bush could cancel 50,000 subscriptions immediately. Let the bureaucrats read it on the Internet, like everyone else.

Good. Now it would be nice for Fox News to post a number where we can cancel the idiot Brit Hume “panel” that crapped all over McCain after the last debate.

“But besides just reporting the story throughout the day, FNC has made it easy for those equally outraged — with a cancellation phone number and complaint email address in their lower thirds of the TV screen.”

Well that’s certainly an unbiased and fair way to cover a story.

Imagine the outrage here if CNN or CBS did the same thing after a Washington Times story they didn’t like.

No one buys the Times anymore anyway. Their stock has gone way down. The majority of people read it online.

A good move. However, many of us via our mutual funds are enabling the NY Slimes to exist.

A serious pop quiz. Are you helping to finance the NY Slimes and its attacks against John McCain,Sarah Palin, Cindy McCain, Sarah's family and children and lately Joe The Plumbler

About one year ago, Morgan Stanley unloaded a steamy smelling pot of NY Slimes stock from one of its mutual funds.

Still many left wing controlled mutual funds own pot fulls of the stinking NY Slimes stock. Is one of your mutual funds wasting your retirement savings to keep the Ny Slimes afloat? If so, you are helping to fund the Ny Slimes vile and personal attacks on John McCain, Sarah Palin, Cindy McCain, Sarah's family and children and lately Joe The Plumbler.

Here is something, we can all do this week to start eliminating the NY Slimes as a threat to our nation.

We can do it at our computers and do it in less than 1 hour. Besides sending a severe warning to the NY Slimes and the mutual fund companies which buy and own NY Slimes stock. We will improve our precious investment capital being wasted on NY Slimes stock.

If a few thousand freepers did this simple action this week and a few thousand new freepers, friends and relatives each following week, we will have a terminal impact on the vile NY Slimes acts like their trashing of Sarah Palin.

Please send this simple "how to" to your blogs, friends, relatives and email lists. This action will serve as a cannon shot across the bows fo the other Dinosaur Liberal Fish Wraps re sedition will not be tolerated any more.

INSTRUCTIONS FROM Grampa Dave:

Want to smash the NY Slimes?
Check your mutual funds to see if they own NYT, the NY Slimes Stock

How many of us own mutual funds which own NY Slimes stock and even worse have increased their NYT holdings this year.

NYT investment by a mutual fund company is a terrible investment re the dollar loss in Stock value the last 2 years. Those investments are an attempt to keep the NY Slimes afloat with our mutual fund $'s.

Now it is very evident that the NY Slimes is an agent and abettor of the al Qaeda Serial Killers. The Slimes is endangering the lives of our families, friends, innocent Americans and every warrior of ours.

Go to this link to see if your mutual fund owns NYT.

http://moneycentral.msn.com/ownership?Symbol=NYT http://moneycentral.msn.com/investor/invsub/ownership/ownership.asp

When the MS Money stock home page comes up, enter NYT into the search area and hit enter and the following screen will show up re ownership of the NY Slimes stock:

The New York Times Company: Ownership Information

  • Shares Outstanding 145.00 Mil

  • Institutional Ownership (%) 83.40

  • Top 10 Institutions (%) 58.60

  • Mutual Fund Ownership (%) 42.64

  • 5%/Insider Ownership (%) 7.77

  • Float (%)

Highlight the Mutual Fund Ownership and hit enter.

If thousands of Freepers, whose mutual funds own shares of NY Slimes did the following:

  1. Sell those mutual funds or trade them for funds not owning NYT.

  2. Send a letter to the fund managers and the CEO's of the mutual fund company telling them why you sold/transferred their mutual fund owning NY Slimes stock. Then demand to know why they are wasting your precious $'s on a lie based fishwrap company which is a terrible investment.

  3. Contact the SEC to investigate why this mutual fund and mutual fund company invested your $'s in one of the worse investments of the past 2 years. Was the investment of yours and others a political bailout of the NY Slimes.

  4. Send this how to re Mutual Funds with NYT stock to everyone on your email list for a wakeup call.

We might have a lot more impact than trying to boycott companies which sell to the elite liberals of NYC and advertise in the NY Slimes.

Very cool indeed, but what’s the overlap of Fox News’ viewers/Slimes’ readers?

I'm pretty sure that most dailies usually lose money on the delivered subscriptions, especially those out of the immediate market (NYC and suburbs). They make their money by advertising which is where they really lose if you cancel because revenues are based on numbers of qualified subscribers or methods of distribution, like news stands and giveaways at hotels. It's not a very efficient model but print publishing is a 20th century method of communication.

A few thousand cancellations won't really effect their income for at least six months and by then they will have a dozen “buy Sunday get six free” promotions to make up for it. Why anyone with internet access pays full freight for a print pub when most if not all the content is available on the web is beyond me.

They are trying to peddle the NYT weekend package here in Tucson for $4.75 per week. Yesterdays news, tomorrow. Who needs it even without the spin. We get it straight from the Tucson “RED” Star anyway, usually free because their circulation is falling off so fast that the ad rates are plummeting and delivery is free in many cases.

Starbucks carries NYT, but not Wall Street Journal.

To ask that Starbucks cancel NYT and carry WSJ, go here: http://mystarbucksidea.force.com/ideaHome .

Imagine the outrage here if CNN or CBS did the same thing after a Washington Times story they didn’t like.

LOL! Hard to criticize a story in a source you're determined to ignore! ;-)

Most patriots are already righteously outraged at CNN and CBS.

Do you understand that the moral equivalence you assume doesn't exist? CNN and CBS are agenda driven. Their agenda is anti Americanism. They are they bad guys.

If your enemy shoots you that is bad. If you shoot your enemy that is good.
