On Colin Powell and his Endorsement of Barak Obama
N/A | 10-19-08 | Self

Posted on 10/19/2008 6:52:26 AM PDT by Anti-Bubba182

Colin Powell today revealed himself as a craven and slimy individual in endorsing Barak Obama. He is endorsing him on the real grounds of racial solidarity and not the Horse Manure he spread this morning about fixing infrastructure, Ayers, etc. And the conduct of the war and the UN not voting right is more scatology. He was for it before he was against it. We've heard it before. Powell was against the war and did not have the courage to go to the wall against it.

I understand his pride in the success of a fellow black, but detest a prevailing culture that instead of saying racism is wrong wherever it appears, says it is the fault of white people and allows any non-white group to pack up on racial lines and pursue racial grievances. Obama is a part of these groups, not that he will not deny the depth of the association when expedient.

Barak Obama is a creature of total cynicism. No matter how close or how much you have done for him expect to be thrown under the train when it suits him. Don't believe me, ask Rev. Wright and Rev. Jackson, hell, ask his Grandmother. A soldier should respect loyalty, especially when that loyalty costs. That is the kind of loyalty George Bush has, maybe to a fault, definitely to his political detriment. Powell can be certain his rewards under Obama will last exactly as long as it is good for Barak.

Colin Powell, unlike Obama, was in the highest echelon of the administration at the time of the decision to go to war. His strident opposition would have given pause to the process. If he thought the war and prevailing leadership was wrong he should have resigned and fought it and them for all he is worth. He might have prevailed. Instead he functioned like a lackey and bided his time to stab his long time, "friend" John McCain in the back.

I really don't know what Powell thinks he can acheive by this. He is never going to be a darling of the Obama crew or the racial grievance industry. Oh they will give him some public compliments but they probably look on him as an Uncle Tom trying to get back in with the, "brothers", especially after working for the Bush administration. He can never erase his association with the war or diminish his failure to oppose it to his best ability if he thought it was wrong.

Powell will go down in history as the first black Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff and Secretary of State marking him as a leading expert in bureaucratic survival and infighting, but not as a leader who fought the fight he should have.

Now, will we see some enterprising 527 start launching ads claiming that the man who made the argument for the Iraqi war just endorsed Obama? It would be interesting to see how the Obamaites would spin that one.

And...will another 527 start bombing the airwaves with Jeremiah Wright? I mean, why not? Powell just up the ante to the max in making this race all about race.

Powell revealed who he was years ago when people thought he might run for office. George Will had an excellent article confronting him on his statements such as “I am a fiscal conservative, but a social liberal.”

So why did many “conservatives” choose to ignore such statements like that from Powell when they would have hung out to dry other politicians who made similar statements.

Note that Rice has said that an Obama Presidency wouldn’t be dangerous for the country.

A lot of Republicans just struggle with that. These people are enemies and there is nothing civil or respectful disagreement about what they are doing and attempting to do. It is easy for them to put on a front when they are the ones committing the wrongs.

The smart Obamaite move on the Powell endorsement is to simply say thank you and let it work for them.

Whether Obama wins or loses is not the primary concern although I see it as a plunge into hell. The primary concern is that the ultra liberal Democratic Congress and Senate will see that his socialist changes will be put into place. The fools in this country that need to open their eyes and see what is actually happening are also part of the problem. They are continuing to vote party only. If Obama were running on the GOP ticket, I would cross over just to vote against him. I continue to be bewildered over this whole election and to pray for America as she slides into history.

he funny thing is that both Obama and Powell are not tied to African-American bondage. They are Kenyan and Jamaican.

You may make that distinction.

Are you so certain Powell and Obama do?

So you think MLK would be appalled? Because he made a speech about character?

Based on that reasoning, I'm surprised you aren't supporting Obama.

He's said a lot of nice things too.

Actually, Obama would still be devastating to this country even if he had a more divided Congress that wasn’t there to aid and abbet him. Just think of what we are facing foreign policy wise and that is enough for me to think we will not have a chance to right an extreme wrong in 4 yrs. Now add a super majority Congress and certainly it is 100% certainty that we will not recover. We might have some slight chance with Republicans to have the ability to block, but this is the death knell with that much power. These people are fascists and America is dead. This makes it all the more contemptible that Powell is doing this.

If perceived as racially motivated this could hurt Obama among independents. It is hard to see this as an ideological move on Powell’s part as he stated that he is not leaving the Republican Party.

Powell has proclaimed that, whatever his professed ideology, when it comes down to it his first loyalty is to a fellow black. He is not the first black "conservative" to make this move.

This will be noted by many whites who were thinking of voting for a black man under the assumption that he would be acting for the benefit of all the people he represented, rather than just those who "look like him". This move will be highly damaging for black conservatives everywhere.

They are the reparations bunch. Obama is a disgrace to every person who has ever sacrificed for this country. Powell is today’s version of Benedict Arnold, who ironically tried to destroy this country at its beginning while Powell is aiming to destroy this country to its ending.

Here is a very weird conjecture. Setting aside the appearance of histrionics for a moment, take this at face value.

In Christian eschatology, the Antichrist or anti-Christ means a person, office, or group recognized as fulfilling the Biblical prophecies about one who will oppose Christ and substitute himself in Christ’s place.

In its evolution, socialism has tried to supplant and replace Christianity, adopting many important both old and new Testament Biblical ideas with *replacements* of similar concepts, but different purpose and outcome.

This goes all the way back to Genesis and the Garden of Eden, renamed “The State of Nature”, the *return* to which is one of the oft-repeated goals of socialism. That is, for mankind to abandon, “The knowledge of good and evil”, and civilization itself, and return to a state of happy, primitive ignorance.

But that is just one of their twisted concepts. They come into their own with trying to supplant Jesus, replacing Him with their own figure, equally capable of erasing the Biblical laws, statutes and judgments that preceded him, as did Jesus. That is, a new Messiah who is the product of *their* faith, able to redefine reality to his “whims”, as they imagine them conforming to socialist doctrines.

Which is why they adore the idea of a cult of personality, and supposedly “Christian” socialists, like Jesse Jackson Jr., come through with the *damnedest* heretical statements imaginable:

“Barack Obama’s nomination is so extraordinary
that another chapter could be added to the Bible
to chronicle its significance.”
— Jesse Jackson, Jr.

He means it, but understates it. He doesn’t particularly want to add to the Christian Bible as much as replace it with “The New Testament of Barack Obama.”

Now this should be of concern to Christians in general, but the Orthodox, such as Catholics, in particular, because both are seen as “the old order”, of the old Piscean Christ, who are now to be replaced by the new and improved Aquarian Christ, for the New Age.

So what are the “old order” doctrines that this “new Christ” hopes to replace?

Well, to start with, the socialist theory is that there is far too much human life for “progress” to continue, so by far, the greatest majority of mankind needs to be culled, by whatever means. Embracing life was the way of the old Christ, so the new Christ embraces death, for the “good cause” of “rebalancing” the Earth. Nothing personal, but the Messiah can do anything he wants to.

Democracy is right out as well, because the Messiah is de facto king of the Earth. He and his court rules, and everybody else obeys. Or else.

The Jews are no longer a “chosen” people, because this new Messiah wants the blacks to have that role. The Jews are, in fact, his enemies, because they are of the old order. The Messiah expects that Christians will follow him because he is the new Christ, and that Muslims will follow him, because he is the 12th Imam, or Mahdi.

He might even pitch to the Hindus that he is the avatar of Shiva, perhaps the Tathagata or other figure to Buddhists as well.

Which brings us back to Christian eschatology, about the Biblical prophecies about one who will oppose Christ and substitute himself in Christ’s place.

Whether or not Barack Obama is a, or the, “real” Antichrist, his followers, perhaps he himself, might very possibly *want* him to be the Antichrist. And as abhorrent as that prospect is to non-socialists, it is exactly what socialists crave. They are not revolted by the idea, and perhaps wouldn’t be even if Obama came out and *declared* himself to be the Antichrist, in a fit of megalomania.

And they most certainly would still consider themselves “Christians”, or as they sometimes sneeringly say, “ *real* Christians”, because they follow the “new Christ”, not the old, outdated Christ, whose doctrines have been superseded.

No doubt it will be harder to trust now. Who's "for real"?

Maybe Clarence Thomas, he can't be fired for his views and they have already cost him heavily in his community.
