McCain Camp Responds to Obama's DOJ Letter
Real Clear Politics ^ | 18 Oct 2008 | BLAKE DVORAK

Posted on 10/19/2008 12:42:05 AM PDT by XHogPilot

In response to the letter the Obama camp sent to the Justice Department, the McCain campaign has released this statement:

"After a week of shifting stories and clumsy corrections regarding Barack Obama's connections to ACORN, the Obama campaign resorted to their now-customary heavy handed tactic of attempting to criminalize political discourse. Today's outrageous letter to Attorney General Mukasey and Special Prosecutor Dannehy at the Justice Department asking for a special prosecutor to investigate Senator McCain and Governor Palin's public statements about ACORN's record of fraudulent voter registrations (including in this week's Presidential debate) is absurd. It is a typical time-worn Washington attempt to criminalize political differences. For someone who promises 'change,' it is certainly only more of the same.

"The letter's request that the Department of Justice investigate 'recent partisan Republican activities throughout the country' is almost a parody of the Obama campaign's attempt to intimidate their political opponents. In case Sen. Obama's lawyer did not notice, we are in the midst of a political campaign, not a coronation, and the alleged criminal activity he calls 'recent partisan Republican activities' are what the rest of us call campaign speeches and debates. All of this is unfortunately reminiscent of the Obama campaign's recent creation of a 'truth squad' of Missouri prosecutors and sheriffs to 'target' people who criticize Sen. Obama. Rest assured that, despite these threats, the McCain-Palin campaign will continue to address the serious issue of voter registration fraud by ACORN and other partisan groups, and compliance by states with the Help America Vote Act's requirement of matching new voter registrations with state data bases to preve nt voter fraud."

you write: “Obama’s campaign has recently been acting like they are worried another shoe will drop. What that shoe is, only the Obama campaign knows. Maybe it is Ayers. Maybe it is Rezko. Maybe it is ACORN. Maybe it is Vera Baker. “

Maybe it’s ODINGA?

WASHINGTON POST - 12 Oct 2008

http://www.washtimes.com/news/2008/oct/12/obamas-kenya-ghosts/

Obama’s Kenya ghosts:
“” Raila Odinga is a Marxist He graduated from East Germany’s Magdeburg University in 1970 on a scholarship provided by the East German government. He named his oldest son after Fidel Castro.

Mr. Odinga and Mr. Obama were nearly inseparable throughout Mr. Obama’s six-day stay. The two traveled together throughout Kenya and Mr. Obama spoke on behalf of Mr. Odinga at numerous rallies. In contrast, Mr. Obama had only criticism for Kibaki. He lashed out against the Kenyan government shortly after meeting with the president...”

“Mr. Odinga and Mr. Obama had met several times before the 2006 trip. Reports indicate Mr. Odinga visited Mr. Obama during trips to the U.S. in 2004, 2005 and 2006...”

“Mr. Odinga told a stunned BBC Radio interviewer the reason why he and Mr. Obama were staying in near daily telephone contact was because they were cousins. In a Jan. 8, 2008, interview, Mr. Odinga said Mr. Obama had called him twice the day before while campaigning in the New Hampshire primary before adding, “Barack Obama’s father is my maternal uncle.”

ACORN is the sore that is secreting it’s puss all over this election. Obama associated himself with them...until last week. It’s time to knock the scab off of this boil!!!

I actually am extremely concerned for Sarah Palin and her family. If Mac loses, they will come gunning for Sarah to keep her quiet. They know how she electrified the base. And they will do everything they can to make sure she doesn’t run in 2012.

you say “Even zerO knows there is no way to enforce a total grab”

Ah, but he’s got that covered - He’s going to set up a “Praetorian Guard”

His intention to create a “National Civilian” Police Force
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwaAVJITx1Y

(We have the military to protect us from foreign enemies, the Coast Guard for our shores, each state has it’s National Guard and State Police, communities have their police and sheriff’s = the obamination says his new NATIONAL police force will have AS MANY troops as our military and as well funded. (How funded?)

Here’s the number of military as of last year.

2007 (August) 1,380,082

Picture over a million new “NATIONAL POLICE” - OVER 26,500 THOUSAND PER STATE. I guess that would be enough to clamp down on anyone who dared raise their voice... or gun.

Sounds more like a “Praetorian Guard”.)

Can you say OHIO?

We are not going to know who the next President will be for quite some time.

ACORN's activities combined with Pelosi's predictions for Dem House majority show that this is not *just* about getting Obama in, it's about getting him in with a fillibuster proof Congress to boot...

This is why even though Alabama will go RED for McCain, those six counties where more registration were found than people of voting age exist, may swing a congressional seat or two or ?.

Amen! God help us! If this guy gets in we’ll not only be hiding our weapons, we’ll also be hiding our Bibles because I’m sure it will be labeled hate speech.

We might be adding Alabama to that...6 counties so far....but no mention of ACORN involvement yet...

Bigger than just ACORN?

Dem padding for Pelosi’s 250 seat prediction also?

Come on McCain or Palin .... one of you two drop the dreaded C word on Obama and cause a firestorm on the MSM.

They will just dig up the video of McCain quoting Chairman Mao in NH (he did it at least twice that I know of)...

Just what are the logistics of this, WRT a gun grab?

Enough people inducted by what date? Trained by what date? To search how many houses and out buildings and barns and acres by what means?

I doubt they could do it if they got the laws in place before the rest of us could disappear whatever they might want.

Just who will join his civilian security force? Most of the young voting for him are anti-gun/anti-war/anti-military/anti-LEO/anti-all rules. They can hire thugs from the streets who will steal so much and so corrupt the system that it will not function as they wish. And then, what will they do with us all? Labor/re-education camps? Many of us would welcome that as a place from which to organize a resistance. In America, a Gandhi-type form of civil disobedience would work. I want to see them pry cell phones with video applications from the hands of the youths. They wouldn't disable cell towers, because then how would _they_ communicate? Too many people know how to change the chips and cards in cell phones for a tracking system to work accurately. Clandestine radio communications were possible 75 years ago and could be rebuilt today, if needed.

Now, they can pass and enforce regulations that make ammo expensive and hard to find. They can do the same for black powder and all the tools and supplies needed to reload. However, the Israelis managed in the years of the British blockade to smuggle in tons of old weapons from Europe and, with the aid of talented metalsmiths, they set up firearms factories within months, trained formerly beaten down urban refugees and conducted successful actions against the British and the Arabs.

Just look around your own homestead. I will bet there are many places conducive to a cache that only someone who had spent decades there would even know existed.

There are wild cards. If some nutter tries to assassinate any donk official of high enough stature, it could be a catalyst for sweeping restrictions to the Second. It could not happen so fast that the vast majority of Americans couldn't cope.

My husband is a talented metalsmith with basic equipment to cast and fabricate almost any metal. I asked him if he could build a gun or make the molds for reloading. Building a gun is not a problem, just time-consuming because tolerances need to be precise. Making ammunition molds is more difficult, but he reckoned it could be done. Finding the metals needed is a matter of ingenuity and knowing where to look. Black powder is better bought now and stored, although it can be manufactured, perhaps not as good a quality as is available commercially, but, it would work, most of the time.

I am more worried about scarcity of basic goods, freedom of political speech, assembly and travel. My son, who is in IT, has told me repeatedly that there are many ways to bypass censorship and have anonymous Internet. The radio folks also know how to send and receive with some chance of success bypassing government interference, from what they have told me.

I think we could hold out, if need be. As I have posted before, I do not think they can or will move swiftly to shut us down totally and I do not think we will have a hot CWII.I think zerO will wait until the end of his second term to make any move and we will have changed Congress before then or gone into total resistance mode.

With no producers and fewer consumers and less money in circulation, just where will they get taxes with which to pay their goons or bribe their constituents? They can print all they want, but they will only devalue their own hold on power.

VERY scary stuff here. Any of you “racists” see a pattern?

Only if I squint. The media is doing a dandy job of covering for him.

While I do appreciate the bump, your idea to vote straight ticket is not the answer we need. Sometimes for some of us voting straight ticket puts a corrupt republican or RINO back in office. BLAH!

We need to understand we didn't get here overnight. One election isn't going to change things.

We need to accept these folks are not the moonbats we'd like them to be. They are and have been highly organized and highly motivated for decades. Many of us will date that back to the 1960’s, but I would say it is much longer than that. The 1960’s were the symptoms of the ‘new generation.’ It wasn't concocted by them, but by others. Others enamored with ‘progressive pragmatism.’

My point(s) being we have let the left define conservatism, instead of us defining it. We thought the Constitution would suffice...until we met them. This battle will be fought for generations to come as it took generations to become entrenched in our culture.

They had a mandate, http://www.uhuh.com/nwo/communism/comgoals.htm , and they have largely succeeded.

We lack the organization. We view our Right of protest etc. as something to be disdained instead of used. How often here on FR I read responses that conservatives don't do that. Horrors we should exercise a Right that only belongs to the left! (Get it...we've given away a Right.)

Do we really need to talk about Free Speech? We let them define what is ‘free speech.’

We let them define what is fair! We all know we want rules to apply to everyone equally, but that isn't fair.

A Freeper posted last week how we define capitalism:
We conservatives prefer our fairness to be defined by everyone playing by the same rules. If some people come out better than others then it's usually a matter of who worked harder, or smarter; that's the way a ‘free’ economy works.

But liberals tend to define fairness as being in place, when the results for everyone come out the same, regardless of the effort each party puts in.

First we must agree to stop them from defining us. We must decide to become organized, not just for a day, but for generations to come. We need to set a strategy to bring back the Republic, not republican party, the Republic. Then, and only then will we begin to be ready to fight the required civic battle. I don't know if we have those kind of leaders. I honestly don't know if we know how at this point.

Palin might be one. Might.
