ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Alaska's black leaders say they are not surprised to see Gov. Sarah Palin at the center of the controversy over injecting the race issue into the presidential campaign.

Palin, Republican John McCain's running mate, has repeatedly insisted that Barack Obama's former preacher, the inflammatory Rev. Jeremiah Wright, is a legitimate issue even though McCain himself has said it is out of bounds.

The daily news worked very hard to find this guy living in Alaska to say something like this. Too bad they couldn't put this much effort into investigating Obama's connection to Ayers, Rezko, and Odinga.

Actually, Alonzo Patterson is a pretty decent guy. Their problem in Alaska isn't about race, it's about pay-back. All the black leaders up here supported the two old-boys that got beat by Palin in the last election. Ya snooze, ya looze!

I'm completely insensitive to racial issues. Politically incorrect too. Why do Chinese, Koreans, Vietnamese, Cambodians, Filipinos, Indians, Middle Eastern Christians (various countries just not Muslims) and many others come to the U.S. with nothing but the clothes on their backs and succeed very well? Those other groups are born here and have many in-place open doors to succeed, but are told by others in their group NOT to do so. It's selling out to the man. They are told NOT to try and be like us. [us being not of their color]. The others don't need groups like NAACP UNCF et. al. I've never seen National Association for the Advancement of Asian People [NAAAP] or National Association for the Advancement of Korean People or Filipino People etc... No marches, no statues, no riots, no stuff named after them...
