I’ve listened to the video twice and don’t find reference to Ayers being a co-founder of ACORN. I find the reference to his associate Wade Rathke being the founder of ACORN.

That's correct. Ayers was not the founder of ACORN. He funded ACORN at CAC and at Woods, both with Obama. And both ACORN and the Weathermen were born out of the ultra-militant SDS. But Ayers is not the founder of ACORN.

The title of the thread should be changed from "FOUNDED" to "FUNDED".

I posted this on the other thread, which has since been locked:

The video does not say that ACORN was FOUNDED by Ayers. It says it was funded by Ayers & Obama through their foundations. Both of these threads have factually incorrect titles and they make us look... well, not smart.

Post #23, from the person who made the video, on (this) thread:

I don’t think the video says ACORN was founded by Ayers... I think it says that ACORN and Weather Underground were both formed out of SDS...

Correct. Ayers and Rathke were SDS members together. Ayers former WUO in 1968, Rathke formed ACORN in 1970. Both groups are breakaways from Students for a Democratic Society.

Ayers and Obama helped finance ACORN together at the Annenberg Challenge, then again at the Woods Fund.

Klonsky, another SDS'er, received Annenberg grants from Obama/Ayers for a different project, the Small Schools Workshop (which was also created by Ayers; Klonsky was pulled from his job as a cab driver to run Small Schools).

Also, until very recently, Klonsky ran a blog on Obama's official website until the campaign scrubbed it.

One big happy Hyde Park family.

We need both titles fixed ASAP. "FOUNDED" to "FUNDED". People are blaming the video for this now and it DOESN'T STATE THIS. This appears to be coming from the HRC forum/HRC supporters, and they are wrong.

I sent a ping to the mods, also and actually filed an abuse report to see if they could correct the title.

I've been checking the political cartoons over at Cagle for some based on ACORN, they're finally out with a whole category for them. Here's the one by Ramirez:

This came to me from the Clintons4McCain and I posted it right before leaving for the OU football game. Thanks catching that about Ayers.
