Just a few days ago, poor Joe Wurzelbacher was an anonymous, middle-class workingman who aspired to buy the plumbing company for which he's worked for the past six years.
But then he drew from Barack Obama the startling admission that the Democratic presidential candidate wants to raise taxes so he can "spread the wealth around."
And when John McCain reminded the nation of Obama's confession time after time during Wednesday night's debate, Democrats simply could not let Joe the Plumber go unpunished.
Yesterday, Wurzelbacher not only found himself under vicious personal attack from the far-left crazies in the blogosphere, he also had to endure uninformed insults from Obama's running-mate, Sen. Joe Biden - who essentially portrayed Joe the Plumber as a greed-crazed plutocrat.
"I don't have any Joe the Plumbers in my neighborhood who make $250,000 a year and are worried," he said.
No doubt - given that homes go for $1 million and more in Biden's tony Delaware nabe.
Anyway, the self-described man of the people has his facts all wrong.
Again.
Joe the Plumber doesn't "make $250,000 a year," as Biden charged.
And he never claimed to.
As he told Obama, what he wants to do is buy a multi-employee company whose annual income is $250,000 to $280,000; Wurzelbacher's take would be considerably less.
In fact, Joe the Plumber made all of $40,000 in 2006.
We know this, because newspapers, TV networks and bloggers have been chasing public records to find out every scrap of info possible in order to discredit poor Joe.

“Biden is nothing more than a three letter word... BOZO!”
My first good laugh of the morning. Thanks!
You know I'd love to agree with you on that, but ...I think some still don't see the moral hazard of 0bama. A few weeks ago I had a day off and the boss called to ask about making a schedule change. We always chit-chat, she is super nice etc. The kind of boss you like to work with. Anyway I told her I was busy that afternoon going to the McCain rally. Her response exposed she wasn't a McCain fan, but told me to have fun. The next day she asked how was it and I told her some of the things that took place and it was exciting and interesting. She explained she had already voted absentee, but didn't really say who. Judging from her demeanor I'd bet she voted 0bama.
I wonder if today she regrets she drank the kool-aid?
I would love to see a good article on what hard-working students think of Obama. I'd love even more to see video of a student slapping Obama down in person:
"Senator Obama, I'm a student and don't pay any taxes now. Next year, when I graduate, my income should be pretty low. Am I the sort of person who will benefit from 'spreading the wealth around' under your tax plans?"
"Yes. It's all about helping young people like you to get started." (or some such positive spin, which he'll probably have prepared)
That's what I thought. I want you to know you're not doing it in my name. Even if you have a pretty phrase for taking money from people like Joe the Plumber who earned it to give it away to people who didn't, it's still stealing. I'm old enough to make my own choices in life, and I choose not to steal or to vote for someone who promises to steal on my behalf. I reject your values, and I'm voting for McCain and Palin."
Been there, done that, 'aint much fun.
Wurzelbacher Joe to go AmSoc learncamp.
Obama wants to take money from those who work for it and give it to those who vote democrat.
Doubleplusgood! Hail Obama!
He could totally take him too. I say bring it on. Joe has made more sense to average Americans in these last few days than anyone else in this campaign.
Joe should make the challenge just so America could see Obama tuck tail and refuse.
the Democratic presidential candidate wants to raise taxes so he can “spread the wealth around.”
Opportunity cost
The true cost of something is what you give up to get it.
what you give up, not what Øbama gives up
Economics
The most concise, non-abusive, definition is the study of how society uses its scarce resources.
.
Taxes won’t be scarce in Øbama’s world
That would be fantastic if it happened and Joe the Plumber was not slaughtered by the MSM for doing it.
“Speaking truth to power” and the powerful rage.
Joe the plumber’s question that extracted from Obama the revelation that he wants to “spread the wealth around” is just the beginning of the argument we must make.
Next we must get the voters to understand that the “rich”, the declared enemy of Democratic Party tax policy, are, functionally, EMPLOYERS, and that taking from them simply raises the prices of goods and services, CREATES unemployment and stifles future jobs. In short, THERE IS NO WAY EMPLOYEES ESCAPE THE DAMAGE OF TARGETING EMPLOYERS THROUGH TAX POLICY.
How can the economy grow if money is extracted disproportionately from the sector that initiates all growth?
Note to Republicans: every time someone uses the word “rich”, we should say, “oh, you mean our nation’s EMPLOYERS-the ones who sign all the checks?” We must not miss an opportunity to rescue the word “rich” from the pejorative status it now occupies.
So the price of celebrity is now to have the all the details of your personal life made public?
What do we know about Brian William's personal life? Howbout Anderson Cooper's personal life? This is getting good.
Fiscal drag
Fiscal drag is the tendency of revenue from taxation to rise as a share of GDP in a growing economy.
Tax allowances, progressive tax rates and the threshold above which a particular rate of tax applies usually remain constant or are changed only gradually. By contrast,
when the economy grows, income, spending and corporate profit rise.
I don't have real harding feelings against Senator Bozo because he's given me so many good laughs. It's like during the Iraq War, how could you get really mad at Bagdad Bob when he was giving everyone such a good time. :)
LOL! I love “ghost hunters”!
