Impeachment law has to be dusted off (603,413 Signatures needed to Impeach Brunner)
The Columbus Dispatch ^ | May 6, 2008 | Mark Niquette and Jim Siegel

Under Ohio's constitution and laws, there are two ways to remove a statewide elected official: impeachment by the legislature, or through a complaint signed by at least 603,413 qualified electors that is filed and tried in court.

The constitution says an officeholder can be impeached "for any misdemeanor in office," but that doesn't necessarily refer to a crime, said Steven F. Huefner, an associate law professor at Ohio State University, and Steven H. Steinglass, a law professor and dean emeritus at Cleveland State University. Rather, "misdemeanor" in this context refers more generically to any misdeed, and that ultimately is defined by the General Assembly, they said.

This is dynamite. I live in Washington State, where two recent close elections were taken from Republicans by vote fraud. Our state GOP took zero action in the first election (Senatorial) and mounted a feeble legal challenge to the second (Gubernatorial) that ended like this:

“If the voters don’t like how elections are handled, the judge said, they should send a message through the ballot box to their legislators and county officials.”

So the remedy for cooked ballots in Washington is....more ballots.

Guess what our Dem controlled state has decided to do about all this? Why, move to voting by mail, of course. That way the monkey business can be more discrete.

Against Motor voter? You are a racist. Against vote by mail and the fraud it invites? You hate invalids. Want to ask for ID at the polls? You are trampling on the rights of those free spirits who live life without identification, and besides, we vote by mail!

Once a group of people decide that the voting game is rigged, the options open to them get ugly quick. This Ohio nonsense had better be faced now, or they’ll end up like Washington, where you need a super-majority to defeat a Dem, because the GOP loses all the close races....

I’d love to get involved in this, but I do not live that close enough to a big city for door-to-door canvassing.

Right now.. we have to get Ohio Republican party to jump on this.. that means getting someone like Joe Deters or some other decent Ohio attorney who knows what to do.. to write the wording for this and get it out.. to the field. This has to be done this weekend.. so anyone who knows anyone.. or calls we can make to Ohio Republican Party offices are needed to get these folks off of their butts.

And you can do that. There are lots of volunteers to collect the signatures once the thing is on paper and in the field.

We can easily get this number of signatures for a ballot issue in Ohio. If McCain loses the election in Ohio, especially by no more than a few hundred thousand votes, Brunner’s toast.

Wrong!... Read the article.. we can call for her to be impeached by petition. It dumps into the Ohio Legislature for action but this skips waiting for Ohio Reps to act.

And, this would be national news regardless, being impeached for permitting voter fraud would be a fact no matter whether folks in Columbus convicted or not.. but we have to get a good case together.. but even that can come after the signatures are gathered.

The very fact that they are being gathered by our fired up Ohio campaign workers would be national news for that last week of October!!!!

Ohio Statewide Officers cannot be recalled.

What You Should Know about Recall Elections

Q.: Could an Ohio governor be removed through a recall election?
A.: No. Neither the Ohio constitution nor the Ohio Revised Code (ORC), Ohio’s collection of written laws, provide for recall elections for statewide offices. For this reason, Ohio voters cannot use recall to remove a governor.

Yup, me too. I'm retired and have at least as much time to vote as those college students from “Vote From Home”! I could vote LOTS of times in my free time! No problem at all, especially since Brunner has encouraged me to register AND vote on the same day!

Well, that piece of news took the wind right out of my sails.

If you or I tried to do this by ourselves.. it would take months to get something done. If folks on the ground in the campaign offices decided to make this happen whether or not the party officially supported it.. this could easily happen before the election.

So you have to get real if you want to be serious rather than just hoping.. hope is for Obama's bunch. We are about doing and getting it done.

Let’s begin with at least one Ohio Republican who can help. The first who come to mind is Ken Blackwell, but I’m sure there must be others to chose from-—for example, who is Joe Deters, and how can you bring him into this?

Still Stealing Ohio

From Kevin DeWine - Ohio Deputy Chair, Republican Party.

The effort to steal Ohio's election continues.

At this hour, Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner still refuses to check the authenticity of as many as many as 200,000 potentially fraudulent voter registrations.

And Gov. Ted Strickland said today he sees "no evidence" of election fraud here in Ohio. Oh really?

Let's review the facts:
A Democrat activist group with strong ties to Barack Obama has publicly testified that its members engage in election fraud right here in Ohio - possibly submitting thousands of fraudulent registrations. (The Plain Dealer, 10/7/08)

The same group, ACORN, is accused of illegally giving cash and cigarettes to get an Ohio man to register to vote 72 times over an 18-month period. (New York Post, 10/11/08)

Hamilton County election officials say at least 10,000 duplicate registrations have been submitted and possibly "thousands of fictitious ones." (Cincinnati Enquirer, 10/10/08)

One man admitted ACORN convinced him to register multiple times and cast a bogus ballot with a fake address. (New York Post, 10/13/08)

At least 13 college students are under investigation by the Franklin County prosecutor for violating residency requirements to cast illegal ballots. (Columbus Dispatch, 10/16/08)

That just scratches the surface of what's been reported in the past week. Yet Jennifer Brunner is content to let it all go unchecked. She is actively working to conceal fraudulent activity, and the integrity of our election is at risk.

I’ll be happy to sign and know of several others that would. What nobody is talking about is the silence of the governor. Why hasn’t Strickland had anything to say about this. You’d think taking this to the Supreme Court would necessitate her talking to the governor.

Of course, he sees no evidence of election fraud, so far, there has been no election. Damn, you have to parse the words of every dem.

I sent notes to several folks I know. I know this would work.. and the charge is already clear.

Blackwell would be tasking every resource to get the voter roles clean and prosecute people who are attempting to create the most massive voter fraud in Ohio history.

It is not acceptable to wait for the results of massive voter fraud to be imposed on the whole country. Once the deriliction and betrayal of the public trust has occurred in allowing this situation to occur where 200,000 registrations are obviously questionable and to fight giving the Counties resources that they are entitled to by law to combat this problem crosses the line into an obviously impeachable offense.

I was also reading this article a bit closer and it turns out that the complaint created under the name of the 600,000 has to be tried in court.. not by the Ohio Congressional branches so that real evidence and real law can be expected rather than political theater.
