....was it the Colon that allowed the Kurds to get slaughtered at the end of the gulf war ?
I always wondered about that, I met an air force general at church who said he resigned over that event

If he “helps win this election” for Obama? Why in heck would you think what Powell says would help either Obama OR McCan?

“General Powell was CJCS under both George H.W. Bush and William J. Clinton’

Bingo, what fools we have been! Bush should have developed some better leadership skills and never trusted anyone even remotely connected with the Clinton administration. If it walkhttp://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/791638/posts#commentleases . . .

That’s a pretty impressive list of good, mostly conservative Republicans he’s donated money to. Knowing that, I would now be surprised if he endorsed Obama.

I’m beginning to think that it’s all coming down anyway, no matter who is in charge. I really am. I have to let go of all of this or I will make myself physically sick. And I don’t want to do that.

So far, I have not seen one concrete story on this subject. Just speculation. Not even a claim of an anonymous source.

Does this look like someone who is going to endorse Obama's opponent five days later on Sunday?

Nope

One can hope for a genius move where one of McCain’s staffers “accidentally” leaked false intel to one of Obama’s staffers over beers or something like that, but that’s unlikely. I can’t imagine Obama’s campaign would be that stupid. That kind of trick usually only works with reporters.

Greta interviewed some guy with the Politico that was salivating over a possible obama endorsement from Powell. Greta wasn’t buying it. her arguments were good - but even better the arguments here that he’s contributed to republicans, never to democrats. I won’t believe ill of him until I see it.

You do if you're racist.

That’s what I said.... but maybe Powell was showing some racial solidarity this week BECAUSE he was about to rile (black) people up so much by endorsing McCain? I can hope......

He’d better not compare Governor Palin unfavorably to Obambi/Biden...... she is head and shoulders above either of those clowns, but I can imagine Powell presenting McCain’s pick of her as the tipping point that drove him to Obambi..... it would be obscenely ridiculous, but that’s one of the favorite lib talking points that the Obama campaign would try to push on Powell, to cite McCain’s pick of Palin as an indication of “erratic” judgment etc. It is b.s., but that’s what they’ve been pushing since John Kerry tried it out on the talk shows right after the Palin announcement.

They cited a source in the Politico story:

The general’s camp is being coy about what he might or might not say on Sunday. But some McCain advisers suspect, without being sure, that Powell will endorse Obama.

“It’s going to make a lot of news, and certainly be personally embarrassing for McCain," a McCain official said. "It comes at a time when we need momentum, and it would create momentum against us

Why would you be upset? You’ve repeatedly declared the race over on numerous threads, so this would change nothing.

“The sceptical strategist added that Powell, though once so popular he was considered as a potential candidate for the White House, was badly tarnished by his involvement, as secretary of state, in making the case for Saddam Hussein having weapons of mass destruction.”

Maybe the following link will help connect some of the dots and also help to explain why Powell will endorse Obama. It could be that maybe Obama isn’t the only secret Muslim. Maybe there are others? Maybe Reverend Wright? I know they are preaching the same doctrine as the Nation of Islam. It’s something to think about. Maybe Powell gave bad info about Saddam on purpose. We will have a better idea when he endorses Obama later on today.

Again, all it says is they “suspect”.. I think they’re applying the same logic everyone else is... Powell will side with his fellow tribe member.

It may end up being the case, but I have yet to see anything concrete.

The thing with the guardian and times online is they almost always parrot whatever the dnc is saying. If powell goes with mccain, it’s going to be a genuine october surprise because it will free voters from obama’s blackmail threat of racism.

Yes, I would say the odds of a Powell endorsement are 99 percent, just look at how the Obama cultists in the media are playing it up.

But we know that endorsements DON’T matter, I’ve never seen any evidence that they impact the actual race.

I don’t think it means much, maybe I am clueless.
