GOP rep on Obama's 'anti-American views’ (Michelle Bachmann)
Politico ^ | 10/17/08 | Barr

Republican Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann (Minn.) accused Barack Obama Friday of holding “anti-American” sentiments.

“I'm very concerned that he may have anti-American views,” Bachmann said on MSNBC’s Hardball. “That's what the American people are concerned about. That’s why they want to know what his answers are.”

“In his book, Barack Obama had pointed to Jeremiah Wright as one of his mentors and also Father Pfleger as one of his mentors. Two of the three mentors are Father Pfleger and Jeremiah Wright. Now, these are very strange, anti-American mentors,” Bachmann continued.

“Barack Obama has been associating with anti-Americans, by and large -- the people who are radical leftists. That's the real question about Barack Obama.”

Bachmann said that Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s assertion that Obama has been “palling around with terrorists” was a “fair comment.”

The Minnesota Republican also insisted that several members of Congress have an “anti-American nature” though declined to name any.

The full ten minute interview was much better than the edited one you provided. There was obviously some sort of time delay between Matthews and Bachmann. It made her seem like she was searching for answers, but the reason was the time delay. I thought she did great. He did not pin her on naming disloyal congressmen. It was a ridiculous, gotcha type question, which she sidestepped easily. The issue is Obama and his associates, not Congress.

Well then they would mention the progressive party, also known as the bull moose party, founded by teddy. Thats a pretty confusing political spectrum to most people involved and a piss poor talking point

Wow! thank you for the post (leading to that link also).

That is one of the best performances in dealing with a left wing agenda-driven talking head that I have ever seen. I bet Matthews was having a cow over that! It was especially effective because it went on and one and he kept asking variations of the same things trying to trick her.

I laughing by the end of it wondering when Matthews was going to completely lose it. He ended just before he would have gone postal.

What about surrounding the cameras & reporters at EVERY event, blocking their view and demand answers about *the one*?

They are under some delusion, and have led us to believe (until now), that THEY have the right to be in control. (instead of reporting news, they manipulate news) They have betrayed the public trust. Take their control away. Pull a *Joe the plummer* on the media. .. for the duration of every event. Be heard!

It’s was a terrible interview. Chrissy kept on asking pointed question after question. Of course, the questions were framed in absolutes (when did you quit beating your wife), with no way of getting around the way the questions were phrased.

The woman should have simply ignored Matthews and starting spinning her own story, instead she was always on the defensive. Or done an Ed Schultz and walked.

The result? She didn’t look good at all.
