Charlie Krueger is taking his first steps ever in a pawn shop.
He says, “With the times the way they are right now, I came to find a good deal on some sporting goods.”
With 3-dollar DVDs, half-priced guitars, and used tools overflowing the shelves, Charlie has come here for one simple reason.
“It’s a good time to buy some stuff,” he says.
And Charlie’s not the only one. Pawn shops across the country are seeing profits fly through the roof.
First Cash Financial Services said its pawn shop profits rose 39-percent from last year, and the pawn giant Cash America said its profits grew by more than 50-percent from last year.

I responded to someone else on this thread. Mort does not have a clue as to what capital gains taxes are. I wonder how many other people are likewise clueless.
One other thing, besides capital gains taxes, that most people are clueless on is the ridiculous notion that an increase in taxes is “passed on to the consumer.”
