Where I work it is more like 98% Obama, 2% McCain, with me being the 2%. Of course I do work in the People’s Republic of Northern Virginia so this is to be expected.

As a fellow Virginian, I share your 2% status! It’s getting bad in areas of the state where a leftist ‘Rat would’ve been run out of town on a rail not too long ago. What the Hades is happening to our state and country???

As the election draws closer, the pollsters switch over to “likely voter” pools. This one (and someone correct me if I’m wrong) is a “registered voter” poll. RV polls always skew toward Democrats because they take in people who aren’t paying close enough attention to the election to actually vote. (These are people who were automatically registered through “motor-voter” laws, for example.) The LV group, however, has a greater percentage of Republicans and conservatives and it more accurate because these poeple actually get out and vote. Liberals and Democrats will sit out elections if it’s too much trouble to go out and vote. Republicans will vote even if it’s snowing broken glass.

Well I just moved here last year so count me as one of the very few who have come to the area recently who is not a left winger. I know I’m only one person but at least it’s something.

Maybe you are where you are so you can influence those who are not a complete lost cause. Keep up the good work, frankie! It can be discouraging, though, because the Obamanites are a hardcore Kool-Aid bunch.

In September, the number of Americans who consider themselves to be Republicans increased a percentage point from 33.2% in August to 34.4% in September.

During that same period, the number of Democrats declined slightly from 38.9% to 38.4.%. The remainder, 27.2%, are not affiliated with either major political party.

That gives the Democrats a net advantage of 4.0 percentage points, down from 5.7 percentage points in August.

This is a false poll. It is outdated, and was an internet poll of adults, not even registered voters. See fivethirtyeight.com.

Even some bookie in the UK, or was it Ireland?, has already paid out to those betting an Obama win.

This same bookie has done the same thing in past elections and guessed wrong! They do the early payouts for publicity.

Lad, the history of the media on this issue of pushing their Rat agenda in the election goes back a long way. See Ann Coulter’s recent column on this. It’s a gem:

Are you not familiar with the sheer number of registrations added by ACORN this year alone?

In Ohio, it’s far above the margin of victory for Bush in 2004. In fact, it’s several times over and there’s 200K in a drawer in question that witch in Ohio just put away and hid from everyone.

ACORN is all about MASSIVE FRAUD! You take all those imaginary voters and tally them for your candidate late at night.

It’s a Democratic tradition. Reporting last, and late at night, the inner city of X, casts xxxx ballots for Obama, putting him over the top and making up the difference for the state of X.

How people don’t get this escapes me.

Look, how you and others like you don’t get a fundamental reality is beyond me!

There is a huge difference between VOTER FRAUD, and VOTER REGISTRATION FRAUD.

Acorn does not have the resources or means to busy 10,000 folks to 20 different polling places each to cast 200,000 votes. That’s the reality.

Will there be some fraud? Sure, there is every election, but this idea that suddenly there are going to be hundreds of thousands of more votes due to fraud this election that previous elections is nonsense.

You need to stop buying into the media and talking head PINHEAD hype and THINK.

They paid folks to get voter registrations, so folks sat aroudn with phone books and filled out cards to get their beer money. That at the end of the day is what the vast majority of these registrations are about.

There is always fraud in elections, but the notion its going to be horribly more this time than any other time is nonsensical.

AP. Reporting the news that they want to be true rather than reporting the news that is true.

Ha! I just checked the AOL straw poll (and voted) and it is 73% to 26%. McCain landslide. LOL.

Wouldn’t that be something if the AOL straw poll was the most accurate poll of all?

The media’s collective head would explode!

No, I already spelled this out. I’m not going to repeat it and get into some petulant argument.

I’ll add another illustration. Why do some districts/states have people fighting not to clean up and remove dead people from the voting rolls?

Got it now?

People are morons. And the vast majority of the American electorate are dumb as stumps. A Democracy cannot survive such an uninformed, ignorant electorate, which is exactly what the Democrats are counting on.

Well, yeah. But it's not really entirely their fault. A huge portion falls directly on their parents and to an even greater degree on the education to which they have fallen victim since grade school.

I've been a public high school teacher almost 20 years (including five years in purgatory at a middle school) and I've spent about 12 years teaching deep in the inner city split between two schools. In 2001 it my honor to be named the social studies Teacher of the Year for my school and entered into the overall district contest. So, I'm pretty much at the top of my game. I teach in the fourth largest school district in the nation and trust me, I've seen it all.

Students have been fed such liberal, ludicrous pabulum for decades that the misinformation has become so endemic so as to be spread along generational lines. The grandparents and the parents and now the kids are all fed the same ..... ummmm excrement. The thing that angers me the most is that nobody is taught process anymore. I teach all my students to not only think for themselves and how to spot an agenda when it's run, but to check all the facts as presented. I show them all the sides and let them intrepret based on that.

But that's pretty much just me so much as I can figure. Some of the AP teachers in other schools do this too, but it's with a liberal bias so to me, that's flawed on it's face. The bias is to simply discount any conservative sources of information as being "extreme." See liberals all figure they are truly middle of the road and by definition anybody that's a conservative is automatically "far right fringe."

Look at kids today and track the television they watch and you can see the process of "dumbing down" that is taking place. I have high school juniors and seniors that are still addicted to the cartoon channel! When I was in high school, I left school at the end of the day and rushed home to catch the Watergate Hearings on television. I knew it'd be the first topic to come up in class the next day and I wanted to be ready. The cartoon channel as a high school senior? No wonder that they're about as attentive in class as a box of hammers!

Way to keep up the spirits!

I said months ago here McCain would win fairly handily. I stand by that, despite being VERY worried lately. It’s been said, but check the sampling numbers here. If a poll with 57% Democrats yields Obama a lead of 2%, he’s in serious trouble. The only reason all the polls rose in Obama’s favor seems to be the across-the-board oversampling of Dems and African-Americans. Both began at the same time.

Don’t underestimate the ACORN stories. This will seriously upset anyone who puts country, democracy and fairness above party and race. Which gives us about 55% of the electorate.

If it is only two points with the way the poll is heavily weighted toward DEMS, it might actually be a huge McCain lead.
